Good Form Preview - Vicbred Super Series Night 2

The Game Plan for Melton – with Blake Redden (@BlakeRedden)

Best Bets ($30 win)

Hectorjayjay (Race 4 No.13) $3.40 TAB Fixed Odds - Click Here to bet on this horse now.

He may have drawn outside the back row but that didn’t stop him in last year’s Vicbred Semi-Final where he charged around the field. I’ve been stunned by a couple of his wins this time in and he is really showing himself to have ultimate class. I’d back his turn of foot and toughness to get him out of any position he finds himself in this race.

Im Smouldering (Race 5 No.6) $1.90 TAB Fixed Odds - Click Here to bet on this horse now.

She took her division last year and I can’t see it going any other way again this season. After a thoroughly dominant heat win in the quickest time on Semi-Final night, I’m expecting her to rush forward and claim the top from Courageousnquick (5) early and from there she will be near on impossible to run down at close to flip of the coin odds.

Best Value ($5 win x $15 place)

Machin Out (Race 1 No.13) $7 - Click Here to bet on this horse now.

This guy has struck a pretty even race but he is in a rare vein of form and while he hadn’t had much go his way before a last start second, I think he can go on with that now. He didn’t have a lot of clear room late there and even if he sits back and comes with one run, there looks some genuine tempo in this race so he should be able to get into the fight late.

Ricimer (Race 2 No.1) $4.40 TAB Fixed Odds - Click Here to bet on this horse now.

This guy was brave in his Semi-Final, continuing to find the line in a blanket finish. He won his first three starts impressively before galloping late when looking certain to run second in the Home Grown final and given he should enjoy a lovely trail here, I think he is the horse to beat.

The Money Races

Race 7 ($35 worth of Flexi First Four’s) - Click Here to bet on this race now.

Keayang Cullen (7) has the speed to negate his barrier pretty quickly and given he hit winning form last time, he can be relied upon to go on with it however I was taken by the first up effort of Bitobliss (10) and if he progresses off that expect him to be stomping home late. The third key hope has to be the warhorse Smoken Up (11) who is too classy to leave out. I’ll be playing the following trifectas.

Boxed Trifecta 7,10,11. $18 gets 300%

7,10,11/7,10,11/4,6,8. $12 gets 66.66%

7,10,11/4,6,8/7,10,11. $5 gets 27.77%

Race 8 ($50 worth of Flexi Trifecta’s) - Click Here to bet on this horse now.

Lennytheshark (4) has been thoroughly dominant this time in and I think if he finds the front he really is still the horse to beat. Guaranteed (9) is the obvious danger and despite the poor draw I still think Ginger Bliss (8) is quite clearly the third pick in the race so I’m playing as follows.

4/9/8. $20 gets 2000%

9/4/8. $12 gets 1200%

4/9/1,3,10 $12 gets 400%

9/4/1,3,10. $6 gets 200%

The EARLY Quaddies (x1 worth $48) - Click Here to bet on the Quaddie now.

6,10,11,13/1,7/2,3,5,13/5,7,13. $48 gets 50%

Quaddie JACKPOT (x4 worth $80) - Click Here to bet on the Quaddie now.

6/5/7,10,11/4. $36 gets 1200%

6/5/4,6,8/4. $18 gets 600%

6/5/7,10,11/8,9. $18 gets 300%

2,5,10/5/7,10,11/4. $8 gets 88.88%
