The Game Plan for Cobram –
with Blake Redden (@BlakeRedden)
Best Bets ($40 win)
Mammals Spark (Race 3
No.1) $1.90
I
know this guy was beaten as an odds-on pop last start but I think he is much
better than that. He got back in a slowly run race then had to make up ground
before racing wide on the home bend. While he didn’t break the clock late, this
race isn’t a lot harder and provided he goes straight, he looks one of the
better bets on the program.
Road To Rock (Race 7 No.7)
$3.40
Returning
from a break, I’m convinced this guy has a class edge over all his front-row
rivals. For that reason I wouldn’t be surprised to see him go forward as the
arms fold back and given he has returned with a strong trial win in a 57.7sec
last half, he shouldn’t be far away from the mark.
Best Value ($10 win x $15
place)
Ynobe Coby (Race 2 No.1)
$8
Even
prior to the scratching of Upanatom I was considering throwing this guy into
the game plan as a place bet but with the long odds-on favourite gone, I
genuinely believe he can win the race. There is no doubt Dobop (12) is
the most serious threat but the pole marker should have the speed to hold a
forward position and he was a touch unlucky in a heat of this race so with a
gun around the circuit I can see him sprinting sharply and getting the
coin at nice odds.
Uroc Mman (Race 6 No.7)
$5.50
It’s
hard to deny Pressplay (8) her chance coming off a Group 1 win but in saying
that she hasn’t necessarily been a dominant filly in her generation and Uroc
Mman (7) has plenty of talent. He blew the start last time which cost him his
chance but prior to that he won strongly in a decent form race so all things
being equal, while we won’t be breaking the bank, if he fires off the arm and
takes a forward position he looks a terrific chance.
Quaddies (x3 worth $110)
5,6,7,9,11/7,8/7,8/6,7,8,11.
$60 gets 75%
5,6,7,9,11/1,3,4,5/7,8/6,7,8,11.
$30 gets 18.75%
