The Game Plan for Kilmore – with Jason Bonnington
(@jasonbonnington)
It’s been a slightly frustrating weekend as finding winners
wasn’t hard but making money from them was. Hopefully that turns around a bit
today as there are a number of short priced favourites across the eight-race
card but most if not all are vulnerable so rather than focussing on Best Bets
I’ve found 1 Best Value, 1 Best Roughie, 2 money Races and some Quads and the
order of the day will be to get the hot-pops rolled.
Best Value ($20 x $30)
Hugh (Race 5 no. 12) $8.50
Coming off 20m over short to middle distance trips and
winning is no easy task but I’ve always had a reasonable opinion of the above
pacer and in this pretty moderate field I think he’s worth an Each way
investment, particularly as he trialled well at Bendigo eight days back.
Best Roughie ($5 Win $25 Place)
Baltimore Boy (Race 8 no. 1) $34
While I concede Bellmac Kody (6) is the horse to beat
here I can’t accept the above trotter as the dead-set roughie he’s been painted
in today’s Herald Sun so you can count me in for something 1 x 5.
The Money Races
Race 2
Time Capsule (2) is the class factor here but I’m pretty
impressed by Game We Play (5) & I’m confident they’ll have this race
between them.
2,5/ 2,5/ 1. $45 gets 2250%
2,5/ 1/ 2,5. $15 gets $750%
2,5/ 2,5/ 4,6,7. $30 gets 500%
Race 6
Raylan Gibbins (5) is the best horse engaged here but
he may have to do some work if he’s to win today so I’m half potting him by
throwing him in the winning mix with Mister Smoochy (1) and Missanger
Management (7) rather than standing him out.
1,5 & 7 Boxed. $30 gets 500%
1,5,7/ 1,5,7/ 3,8. $30 gets 250%
The Quads (x4 for $170)
4,12/ 1,5,7/ 1,3,5,6,7,8,9,10,11/ 6. $54 gets 100%
3,7,8,9/ 1,5,7/ 1,3,5,6,7,8,9,10,11/ 6.$27 gets 25%
4,12/ 1,5,7/ 1,3,5,6,7,8,9,10,11/ 1,3,4,7,10. $54 gets 20%
3,7,8,9/ 1,5,7/ 1,3,5,6,7,8,9,10,11/ 1,3,4,7,10. $35 gets
6.48%
