Good Form Preview - Thursday Night @ Ballarat

The Game Plan for Ballarat – with Jason Bonnington (@jasonbonnington)

Bray Raceway is warming up to host the Breeders Crown Semi-Finals for a second successive season this time next month but before we get there we’ve got to make some folding from tonight’s eight race card. I ‘m taking a fairly traditional path tonight with 1 Best Bet. 1 Best Value, 1 Best Roughie, a couple of Money races & some Quads & I’m particularly pumped about the prospect of getting our Best Roughie home.

Best Bet ($60 Win)

Somethingsgotagive (Race 4 no. 6) $2

I’m not sure we’ll get flip of the coin odds here but if we do it should be Christmas given this bloke will spear across and find the front and shouldn’t get headed from there.

Best Roughie ($10 Win $20 Place)

One Wise Man (Race 7 no. 3) $17

A few things would have to go right here but on his day this bloke is the fastest beginner off the front line and if he finds the top he will be very tough to beat. To be honest, it’s not even the end of the world if he doesn’t as he would then get a cosy run just off the pace and still be dangerous if he’s at his best.

The Money Races (Flexi Trifectas for $60)

Race 2

Bettor Downunder (1) is a total gun who has been racing against a stellar group of 3YO fillies’ this term. She won’t know herself back to this grade and should be far too good while Tuscan Breeze (3) has been a big improver for Emma Stewart and looks the obvious silver medal recipient.

1/ 3/ 6. $30 gets 3000%

1/ 3/ 2,4. $20 gets 1000%

1/6/ 3. $10 gets 1000%

Race 4

As mentioned above Somethingsgotagive (6) should have this race on toast with the only realistic silver medal hopes being Kool Kenny (7) and Royal Icing (3).

6/ 7/ 3. $20 gets 2000%

6/ 7/ 1,2. $20 gets 1000%

6/ 3/ 7. $10 gets 1000%

6/ 3/ 1,2. $10 gets 500%

The Quads (x1 for $140)

2,4,9,10,11,12,13/ 1,7/ 1,2,3,4,8/ 3,4. $140 gets 100%
