Best Bet ($50 win)
Ricimer (Race 9 No.2) $1.60
It’s not always considered wise to take odds-on, particularly with the 2YO’s however I think this might be the exception to the rule. He really took a leaps forward at his second lifetime start when thrashing his rivals and although Morior Invictus (1) looks handy, the favourite really should be too strong.
Best Value ($25 win)
Argyle Melody (Race 1 no.8) $4A lot here will depend on the start however if Yankeeiron (1) can hold the top then our guy is going to get the lovely trail right into the passing lane. At worst he will probably end up three pegs and with a hint of luck will be charging home at the knock.
Best Roughie ($10 win x $35 place)
A Bit Ruthless (Race 5 No.5) $26This is certainly a circumspect little wager but I have a bit of time for this gelding. He has a bit of early speed and although he is unlikely to cross the lot, he should be handy in the run and he was put out of play last start time. Prior to that he was a close-up third at big odds so the precedent is there.
The Money Race ($50 worth of Flexi Trifectas)
Race 4It’s always tricky banking on an unraced colt but Show Me The Bling (4) is a half-relation to Baby Bling and Bling It On who has trialled smartly at Menangle for Luke and Belinda McCarthy before transferring to the David Aiken Stable. Outside of him we will play three trifectas as shown below to try and turn a profit.
