THE GAME PLAN for Mildura – with Michael Polster (@mickpolster)
BEST BET
Meet The Punisher (Race 7 no. 2) $2
As has been the theme of late, tonight’s meeting is a tricky one with most races throwing up more questions than answers so I’ve decided to stick with what I think is the one good thing of the night and have a decent whack at it. This bloke was most impressive winning first up for Shayne Cramp at Horsham where he led them all-the-way in a new PB of 1:57.2 for the 1700m journey. He will find this race a tad harder but he looks like working to the front once more and with some improvement sure to be in him I don’t think they will beat him.
I’m having $400 straight out on him.

STAR TRIALLERS
Phantom Of The Opera (Race 3 no. 3) $3
This Kiwi-bred 3YO makes his debut for the all-conquering Shayne Cramp stable tonight and he is expected to be hard to beat first up going by his comfortable trial success on this circuit 13 days ago. Shayne has decided to take the reins on this guy instead of stable mate Changing Code, which is a good lead.
Maastricht (Race 5 no. 3) $4
Yet another smart type engaged for Shayne Cramp tonight and this classy mare should be ready to run a race first up from a spell after winning a trial well on this track just short of two weeks ago. She has gate speed, looks the leader and will take catching.
