Good Form Preview - Manic Monday @ Cobram

The Game Plans for Cobram

Jason Bonnington (@jasonbonnington)

There will be some short priced favourites today but there's question marks over most of them so I'm going to target a Best Quinella, two Money Races, a couple of value runners and the Quad to try & make some folding to kick off the week.

Best Value

Royal Direction (Race 3 no. 1) $8 ($25 Each Way)

This filly improved out of sight last start when afforded a soft trip in good company and given she's almost certain to lob the leaders back here, with race favourite and Good Form Black Booker (Realy Under Fire) potentially stuck behind here in the run, then the $8 quoted in today's Herald Sun is good enough for me on an Each Way basis.

Daretobedifferent (Race 6 no. 5) $8 ($25 Each Way)

This mare was only a couple of metres behind likely favourite here Wildenstein (13) off level marks before embarking on a semi-succesful Monte campaign at her past couple of starts. Today Wildenstein (13) will be spotting her 20m at the start, so $8 or better looks tempting, again on an Each Way basis.

Best Quinella - Race 1 ($50)

Desiring Bella (3) & Duardo (6) have the score on the board here and shoudl be running one-two, particularly if the former filly leads early and hands up to the latter one as expected. You won't get a windfall dividend here but it will be a nice way to kick off the card.

THE MONEY RACES

I’ve come up with Races 1,2,3,5 and 7 as the best to target today in what looks a great day for some trifectas with limited winning or place hopes in most races on the program.  Below is how I’m playing for a total of $250, which along with the $100 Quaddie will take my outlay for the day to $350.

Race 1
3,6/ 3,6/ 1,4,9.  $35 gets you 583.33%
3,6/ 1,4,9/ 3,6.  $15 gets you 250%

Race 2
7,9/ 7,9/ 1,4,6,8.  $25 gets you 312.5%
7,9/ 1,4,6,8/ 7,9.  $25 gets you 312.5%

Race 3
8/ 1,2,9/ 1,2,5,6,7,9,10.  $50 gets you 277.77%

Race 5
4,5/ 4,5/ 2.  $10 gets you 500%
4,5/ 2/ 4,5.  $10 gets you 500%
4,5/ 4,5/ 1,6,8,9,11.  $15 gets you 150%
4,5/ 1,6,8,9,11/ 4,5.  $15 gets you 150%

Race 7
6,11/ 6,11/ 1,7,8,9,10.  $25 gets you 250%
6,11/ 1,7,8,9,10/ 6,11.  $25 gets you 250%

QUADDIES X2 $100 total spend
4/ 4/ 13/ 11.  $20 gets you 2000%
1,2,4/ 4,5/ 5,7,9,13/ 6,11.  $80 gets you 166.66%

BLACK BOOKER (Racing Today)

Realy Under Fire (Race 3 no. 8) $1.60

This guy has been under notice ever since switching to the Glenn Douglas camp and two of his three runs for that mentor have been eye-catching to say the least. he may come up very short today, but if he gets a clear crack at them in the lane then he shoudl be busting his maiden here for sure.

STAR TRIALLER

Magic Moment Lombo (Race 2 no. 7) $3
Above average filly who found trouble in a heat of the Victoria Oaks at Melton last time but she won a trial at Shepparton in fine style last Thursday night and despite drawing poorly she is sure to be a major player today.
