There's no getting around the fact that the prevalence of small fields & curious interlopers make today's programme very tricky for punting. As a result I'm playing pretty safe w/ a Best Bet at Black Figure odds, a Best Value bet, one Money Races & a few Quads. We could well see 7 favourites win but most of them can go around w/out my hard-earned coin!
Best Bet ($25 Win)
Our Summer Wind (Race 7 no. 6) $2.50
There are going to be plenty of red figure favourites today but I'd prefer to attack one that should be at an OK price. Put simply, the major two rivals for this bloke today are Im A Peregrine (4) who has talent but mixes his form and Bushi (7) a Kiwi recruit who doesn't look to be any sort of star on face value. As a result I'm happy to take the $2.50 if it's on offere here given we KNOW this guy is a pretty handy horse.

Walky Talky (Race 5 no. 1) $5.50
I've been following this bloke ever since he returned from a break and he's given every indication at his past two starts that he's crying out to win. Once again there's a curios Kiwi recruit here in the form of Major Deed (7) but I'm happy to take him on here and throw him in my Quads.
The Money Race - Race 2 (Flexi First 4's)
The philosophy here is very simple. I just think that Jack Kelly (1) will ping to the top and both Manny Tiavon (2) and Wilwillwinsum (3) will form an orderly line behind him. If that happens they should run 1-2-3 and even if they don't I think they'll dominate the race.
