I love Shepparton. It is my favourite and most profitable Victorian track and while today’s races look tricky I’ll be disappointed if we do not have a win. There are no dead-set certainties for mine so what we’re going to do is target two Best Bets at OK value, two Best Value horses at very good value on an Each Way basis and also the Quads as has become traditional here at Good Form!
Best Bets ($50 Win)
Armbro Higgens (Race 2 no. 6) $2.10It’s unlikely we’ll get black figures about this bloke but even around the $1.60-$1.70 mark he represents a good way to kick off the day. Pretty simply put, he will win more races and many of the others may not so back him straight out unless he’s very silly odds.
Narkoola (Race 6 no. 12) $3
Nothing at all went right for this talented mare last time
out but her form prior to that run had been sensational this campaign. She is
versatile, so the draw should not be too big an obstacle and against this grade
of horse she looks the class factor today.
Best Value ($25 Each Way)
Eyes On The Road (Race 3 no. 8) $9This youngster had trialled well prior to an outstanding first-up run silver medal behind Melita Bromac at Cranbourne. I’m not sure you’ll be getting anything like $9 but if you’re getting better than $4 he can be backed either straight out or Each Way today with Hooper Road (11) the other key runner for mine.
Die Tryin (Race 4 no. 6) $8
I’m keen here. In fact, if you’re going to have one Each Way
bet all day I’d be having a crack at this guy. The reasons for my confidence
are the fact that he’s won more races than any horse in the field, he’s
probably racing in career best form and with a lack of speed drawn inside him
he could well find the front.
