Good Form preview - Manic Monday @ Yarra Valley

The Game Plan for Yarra Valley – with Jason Bonnington (@jasonbonnington)

Super Sunday has come and gone and while Australasia’s age-restricted superstars will now head for a well-earned rest, there’s still plenty of racing for us to make some decent coin! As was the case for much of last week, I don’t think there are any living certainties on today’s programme but I love the Yarra Valley circuit and I’ll still be targeting three Best Value bets I’m pretty keen on and some Quads.

Best Value ($50 Win)

Lets Go Happy (Race 4 no. 3) $4
This guy actually went pretty well on debut even though he went under as a red figure favourite as he was beaten by a good horse (Major Lloyd) and didn’t have things his own way. He finds himself in an eminently winnable race here and given he was very impressive at the trials before his debut effort, expect him to start at reasonably short odds and prove a shade too good.

Charlotte Two (Race 5 no. 6) $3.80
This girl is nothing if not honest and can also be completely forgiven for going under as a hot favourite last time out given she never shirked the issue and Echuca is a very tough track on which to sit parked. She should roll forward again here and if she finds the breeze without spending too much petrol she should put this lot to the sword in the lane.

Ok To Fly (Race 6 no. 1) $4.80
He has been in terrific form for quite some time now and could not be better suited than with a good draw over the short course at a track where he was narrowly rolled in a 1:56.7 mile just four starts ago. He should speed to the lead here and whether Monique Burnett shoots for an all-the-way win or she takes a trail in transit there’s little doubt for mine that he’s the one to beat.

Quaddies (x3)
3/ 6/ 1,2/ 1,2,5. $30 gets 500%
3/ 6,8/ 1,2,4,8,9/ 1,2,5. $30 gets 100%
1,2,3,4/ 1,4,6,8/ 1,2,4,8,9/ 1,2,5. $40 gets 16.67%

Black Booker (Racing Today)

Indi Bapu (Race 7 no. 5) $6
This guy was held up at a crucial stage before flashing home late at Shepparton last Monday. He is a specialist miler but his last start effort was too good to ignore and even over the 2150m he looks the one to beat. Click here to view his most recent run.
