Good Form Preview - Monday @ Stawell

The Game Plan for Stawell – with Blake Redden (@BlakeRedden)

Best Bets ($30 win)

Zermanion (Race 3 No.10) $3.30

This looks a pretty thin race and going back four starts this guy monstered the likes of In The Trenches and Little Lyn from a poor draw at Ararat. Last time he was a little disappointing behind Messini but it was always going to be hard to make ground when they let fly with such a quick last quarter. Back in class today, he should prove very hard to beat.

Lotsa Life (Race 6 No.1) $3.40

Hopefully we can secure something like the $3.40 on offer in today’s paper because this guy was huge last time when sitting parked outside Ideal Majority at Maryborough. In saying that, nothing really made ground but his effort to battle on and be beaten just on a length by a smart horse was more than sufficient for a race of this nature. Add to that he should be able to kick up and hold a forward position and I think he will be very tough to beat and the best bet on the card.

Best Roughie ($5 win x $15 place)

Benchmark (Race 8 No.6) $17

I was really impressed with this fella at his latest run. He landed three back on the pegs from the second row and was shuffled back at a crucial stage but when clear he really charged to the line with good momentum. His effort to take ground of Hellovaway (who went around in a Vicbred Semi-Final on Saturday night) was pretty impressive and while he has had just three starts to date, he showed some early speed on debut so if he elects to press forward here don’t be surprised. Even if he has to slot in somewhere, the improvement he has shown suggests he is still a viable place threat.

The Money Race

Race 2 ($45 worth of Flexi Trifectas)

Dartmoor (1) may be a known commodity as a 12YO but he has been pretty consistent late and gets the gun draw in a suitable race while Hellovanite (5) is back in good form and looks a serious winning threat along with Giveusagrin (8) who was OK last time and is going a fraction better than his form suggests. All that being said Liston (10) would just about blouse them all if he is at his best so we will take four trifecta’s to take into account the possible scenarios.

Boxed 1,5,8. $18 gets 300%

1,5,8/1,5,8/3,7,10. $12 gets 66.66%

1,5,8/3,7,10/1,5,8. $9 gets 50%

10/1,5,8/1,5,8. $6 gets 100%

Race 7 ($30 worth of Flexi Trifectas)

Goodtime Slater (1) was beaten by a handy horse on the way up last time and looks a leading chance but Shes A Killer (2) is right back in class and ready to win. Outside of that pair Cyclades (9) is good enough to be competitive and was just four metres away in a 27.9sec last quarter in a recent Maryborough trial so he should be close enough to the mark.

Boxed 1,2,9. $15 gets 250%

1,2,9/1,2,9/3,7,10. $9 gets 50%

1,2,9/3,7,10/1,2,9. $6 gets 33.33%

Quaddies (x4 worth $90)

2,3/1/1,2,7,9,10/10. $35 gets 350%

2,3/1/1,2,7,9,10/6. $15 gets 150%

1,4,5,11/1/1,2,7,9,10/10.  $30 gets 150%

1,4,5,11/1/1,2,7,9,10/6. $10 gets 50%
