The Game Plan for Terang
– with Blake Redden (@BlakeRedden)
Best Bets ($50 win)
Cool Carat (Race 3
no.1) $1.70
This guy had a tough run at Tabcorp Park last time from a
poor barrier and before that he ran a terrific third when parking in a race won
by Game Deliver. That looks terrific form for a race like this and with the
advantage of the inside barrier, he should be able to hold a prominent position
and hopefully get our night off to a winning note.
Arr En Special (Race
7 no.7) $10
This guy might be perennially underrated but since Jason Lee
has jumped in the cart this preparation, he has been low-flying. He again draws a tough barrier but if he can
reproduce any of his last three runs which include a second to Desdon Murruffy
last time, a win over Crazy Dave two back or his runners-up cheque to Eliseos
Falcon prior, he will be a big player even if we don’t get the $10 quoted in
today’s paper.
Best Value ($5 win x
$15 place)
One Wise Man (Race 8
No.5) $10
After a monster effort first-up at big odds, this fella didn’t
have a lot of luck behind Tezz Khora last time so back to a slightly easier
race he can improve. He was building a handy record before going out for a
break in October winning two of his last five in good style and he should be
getting fitter now that he is third up so on the each-way basis I think he is
worth a little wager.
The Money Race ($50 worth of Flexi Trifectas)
Race 4
The scratching of Liston (7) has
changed this race dramatically however I think Wipem Dry (4) is going too well to ignore as the leading hope. Jetshaw Joe (1) has ability when right
and is first-up for the new stable so has to be respected. For that reason we
are going to play the following combinations.
4/1/2,3. $25 gets 1250%
1/4/2,3. $15 gets 750%
4/2,3/2,3,5. $10 gets 250%
Quaddies (x2 worth $100)
4,5,7/3,5,6/7/4,5,6. $54 gets 200%
4,5,7/3,5,6/2,3,6,9/4,5,6. $46 gets 42.59%
