Good Form Preview - Wine Country Friday

THE GAME PLAN for Yarra Valley – with Michael Polster (@MickPolster)

The Money Race

Race 8
Lennytheshark looks too good for his rivals with Ocean Bay, Under Cover Bettor, Magnificent Art and Nikkis Delight the key place hopes so I think a couple of First Four’s look the go. Below is how I’m playing with $100 total spend.

11/ 2,5,6,7/ 2,5,6,7/ 2,5,6,7.  $60 gets you 250%
11/ 2,5,6,7/ 2,5,6,7/ 4,8,9,10.  $40 gets you 83.33%

Best Roughies

Posimistic (Race 5 no. 1) $12
Won the St. Arnaud Trotters Cup three back when he trailed the leader and although this is a harder race he should get a cheap run on the pegs once more and is worth a gamble at odds.

Djibouti (Race 7 no. 4) $14 TAB Fixed Odds
Recent Kilmore trial winner who was quite good behind Veranjee in the Gunbower Cup last start and looks set to run a cheeky race from the front line draw with his excellent stand manners.

Quaddies (x4)
8/ 1,2,3,7,8,10,12/ 1,5/ 13.  $25 gets you 178.57%
8/ 1,2,3,7,8,10,12/ 1,5/ 4,6,9,11,12.  $35 gets you 50%
1,6,7,10/ 1,2,3,7,8,10,12/ 1,5/ 13.  $20 gets you 35.71%
1,6,7,10/ 1,2,3,7,8,10,12/ 1,5/ 4,6,9,11,12.  $20 gets you 7.14%

BLACK BOOKERS (Racing Today)

My High Expectations (Race 5 no. 10) $7
Comes off a monstrous run in the Stawell Trotters Cup 12 days ago where he missed away and did a phenomenal job all things considered to run on into fourth placing. He normally begins well from the tapes and his prior form was top notch so he is not without a chance today with a safe getaway and a bit of luck in running. Click here to view the run.

STAR TRIALLERS

Djibouti (Race 7 no. 4) $14 TAB Fixed Odds
Freshened up since finishing a handy fourth to Veranjee in the Gunbower Cup a month back and he looked sharp winning a recent Kilmore trial by a big space. He handles the standing start conditions well, draws to race in or near the lead and if you don’t want to take the shorts about Mustang Mach he appeals each way.

Lennytheshark (Race 8 no. 11)
Raced with distinction in his freshman season and he looks ready to kick-start his 3YO campaign with a victory today after trialling nicely at Melton last Monday night. He has to contend with the extreme alley over the short course, plus a few handy ones in front of him but his class should shine through in the end.

BLACK BOOKERS (Kilmore Last Night)

Lavish Art
Tracked up three-wide with cover at the bell and hit the line nicely out wide on the track for second to Onetolove in what was just a dash up the straight. She was first up from a break there so the run will benefit her and expect this handy filly to be tough to beat in whatever Geoff Webster throws her in next. Click here to view the run.

My Temudjin
Was forced to sit three-deep the trip from a wide alley and after forging to the lead on the turn he was gunned down by Lively Operative who had a much easier run. He was impressive winning at Melton prior at his Aussie debut and he is sure to be extremely hard to beat when he steps out again on last night’s big effort.
