THE GAME PLAN for Melton

333.33%
Best Bet
Mister Sheedy (Race 5 no. 10) ($3)
This bloke was heavily backed at Ballarat last start but
after getting back in the run he was never in the hunt and only battled into
sixth spot behind Kotare Roland.
He is much better driven tough, as indicated by his game
second to Kotare Roland here prior and with the breeze his likely position
tonight expect him to bounce back.
Quaddies (x2)
6,11,13/ 10/ 13/ 2,4,5,6,7,8,10,11,12,13,14. $33 gets
you 100%
6,11,13/ 5,8,9,11,13/ 13/ 3,5,6,9,11. $67 gets you
40.60%
Big6’s (x 2)
1,7,9,11/ 6,11,13/ 10/ 13/ 2,4,5,6,7,8,10,11,12,13,14/
6,11,13. $33 gets you 8.33%
1,7,9,11/ 6,11,13/ 5,8,9,11,13/ 13/
2,4,5,6,7,8,10,11,12,13,14/ 6,11,13. $67 gets you 3.38%
Hutchy’s Double-Shot (@Hutchysays)
Best Bet
El Paco (Race 9 no. 6) ($2.20)
I simply love betting on the trotters and I’m pretty well at
ease with the idea that this bloke will be too good for his rivals so stay
patient, wait for 9.24pm and get involved with him
Best Value
Alabama Skeeta (Race 7 no.8) ($17)
Another trotter here and this time it’s one that rated
1:56.6 for his last mile (see Wednesday’s sectional times) winning here last
weekend. That form is good enough to see him go very close here so the $17 in
today’s Herald Sun looks pretty juicy.
Tim Butt
Best Chance
My Temudjin (Race 2 no. 2) ($1.30)
“He’s quite a nice horse in New Zealand. He’s up the grades
a fair bit back home so he comes in terrifically well in the handicapping over
here. I haven’t trained him before but if I can get him going as well as the
last people then he’s two grades below Grand Circuit status, he’s a M2 sort of
horse in New Zealand.”
Askmenow (Race 3 no. 9) ($2.50)
“She’s a nice filly. She showed a little bit as a 2YO but
she wasn’t in the top half dozen in New Zealand. We like her though and she’ll
be heading to the Gold Chalice on the 21st so tonight will give us a
good guide as to just how well she’s going.
Im Noddy (Race 4 no. 11) ($3)
“He’s just a horse. We’ll play around and see where he gets
to but he’s not going to set the world on fire. If he can get as far as winning
an MO we’d be very happy so tonight’s a good start to see if that’s in his
future.”
BLACK BOOKER (Racing Tonight)
Vinni Gambino (Race 5 no. 2) ($12)
Drew poorly here last week and was noted making up many
lengths out wide on the track in a slick last half when fifth to Astral Flight
in M0 company. He gets back to a C3-C5 tonight and although he does take on
some handy ones he has a decent draw this time around and is not without an
upset chance. Click here to view the run.
STAR TRIALLERS (Racing Tonight)
Flaming Flutter (Race 1 no. 8) ($2.10)
Raced with distinction in elite company last season and he
resumes from a break tonight off the back of a soft trial victory at Melton
last Monday night. He has the awkward gate to contend with, not to mention a
flying Our Missionary Man, but with the right luck in running he should go very
close first up. Click here to view his latest trial.
Nikkis Delight (Race 3 no. 1) ($6)
Showed some talent last term and she should be ready to run
a race first up after trialling well at Ballarat late last month and on this
circuit last Monday night. She draws perfectly in barrier 1 and has the gate
speed to make full use of the draw so whether in front or just off the pace she
will be a force at each way odds. Click here to
view her latest trial.
Silent Prowl (Race 5 no. 11) ($4)
Ran a PB of 1:54.7 on this track prior to going for a break
and he limbered up for this with a trial placing on this circuit 18 days ago
where he finished off well in a 57.9 final half. There is every chance he will
have to do the bullocking work out three-wide on the track with a lap to
travel, which isn’t really his go, but he still should be a threat. Click here to
view his latest trial.
