The Dean Braun show which kicked off at Cranbourne today is more than likely to roll on into Terang’s meeting tonight and I reckon I’ve found a virtual moral at very nice odds plus a Best Quinella/Exacta, two Money Races and a skinny Quad where the aforementioned trainer will feature very heavily!

Best Bet

Ynobe Coby (Race 1 no. 2) $3.20 ($50 Win)
He’s only had the four starts but I’ve developed a real soft for this bloke since he returned from a break because he’s the kind of horse you can follow with confidence. What you’ll get from him tonight is exactly what you’ve gotten form him at his past two starts, that is gate speed, a healthy sense of brutality and a mile rate between 1:58 and 1:59 which will make it almost impossible for his rivals to run him down.

Best Quinella/Exacta

We’re going to stick w/ Race 1 for our best Quinella/Exacta because while this is a risky bet it may set up our night. As mentioned above, I’m confident Ynobe Coby (2) will lead and get most of his rivals off the bit here and if he does, it will be a peg-dominated affair where Shes His Story (8) will get every chance to run into second, or if they go too fast in transit, even run him down.

Just the 7 races tonight but it looks a great punting program and I’ve come up with a Best Bet, Best Value Bet, three Money Races and a crack at the Quaddie in a number of different ways as the best plan of attack.

BEST BET

Ynobe Koby (Race 1 no. 2) $3.20         $50 win

This bloke went 1:58.3 to win at this track and distance first up from a break two runs ago and although beaten at Horsham last time he wasn’t disgraced as he again set the speed and was just touched off on the line in 1:58.7.  He ticks all the boxed here, as he should lead comfortably and with his main rivals drawn outside him or on the back row I don’t think they will be able to run him down.

BEST VALUE BET

Deejay Dilinger (Race 5 no. 3) $9        $15 win x $35 place

Similar to stable mate Ynobe Koby in Race 1 tonight this fellow is a natural runner and although he hasn’t been too dangerous in three runs this time in I think he is a genuine improver tonight, here’s why.  1.  He should be able to muster the speed early to make his way to the lead, which is where he loves it.  2.  He holds the track record of 1:55.9 around this track for this trip, which he won’t have to run tonight to win, but with the favourite having to come from the back Courtney Slater can rate him at even splits to make it hard for that guy to work into the race.

Really good 2YO contest here with Watch This Spot the one to beat on his debut victory at Cranbourne and Paua Fella has shown plenty of promise in his two runs to date so I’m going to base some Trifectas around the pair.  Below is how I’m spending $50.

As mentioned in the Best Value Bet above, Major Steppe is definitely the one to beat but I’m giving Deejay Dilinger a chance of knocking him off so I’m going to base some Trifectas around the pair.  Below is how I’m spending $50.

Promising 3YO Itz Dreamin Jonesy is the testing material here but I do have a healthy respect for Highview Jenna, who is first up for Dean Braun and My Bros Dreaming was impressive winning here in fast time last start so I’ll play some Trifectas a few different ways to cover all bases.  Below is how I’m spending $50.
