The Game Plan for St
Arnaud – with Jason Bonnington (@jasonbonnington)
Best Bet
Longtan Liberator
(Race 3 no. 2) ($2.70)
This bloke was a little disappointing from the top end last
time but his prior runs were very good and regardless of whether he leads or
sits parked this does look his race to lose.
Best Value
Kid Coconut (Race 7
no. 7) ($7)
This guy has won 17 races and looked somewhere near his best
when dominating lesser rivals two starts back at Kilmore. This is a wide open
race but he’s worth an Each Way wager at the $7 quote.
Best Quinella
Macy Lila (Race 2 no.
5) & Cyclades (race 2 no. 6)
These two pacers should occupy the lead and the breeze from
very early on here and it wouldn’t surprise one bit to see them draw away from
their rivals. The Quinella won’t pay heaps but should kick the day off to a
good start for later on.
Quaddies x 2
6/ 2,3,4,5,8,9/ 1,2,7,8,9/ 1,2,4,6,7,9,12,13. $60 gets 25%.
1,3,4/ 2,3,4,5,8,9/ 1,2,7,8,9/ 1,2,4,6,7,9,12,13. $40 gets
5.56%
Black Bookers (Racing
Tonight)
Tannissa (Race 1 no.
5) ($3)
Did all the work after sitting parked outside Modern Hitch
on Maryborough Cup Day before being nabbed on the stick by Umi in 1:56.5. She
is yet to win in eight attempts but her breakthrough is coming and today might
be her day. Click
here to view the run.
Waterslide (Race 4
no. 3) ($4)
She is a talented mare who stays under notice having made
her way into the Good form Black book on the back of a luckless effort @
Horsham two back was followed by an impressive run behind rising star Pembrook
Caesar last time out. That most recent run was a great form pointer for today
and she can beat Lombo Cloud Nine here if everything goes to plan. Click
here to view the run.
Wheatsheaf Avaball
(Race 7 no. 4) ($15)
Did some work out of the gate and again over the final
circuit but was still cheeky enough to go down fighting behind Keayang Falcon in
a 53.6-second final half at Terang last Monday night. His racing style leaves
him open to dive-bombers but he is in career best form for Michelle Manning and
may be worth an Each Way wager at odds in this afternoon’s feature race. Click
here to view the run.
Black Bookers (Ballarat – Saturday night)
Brunelleschi
He is an Amy Tubbs-trained Vicbred Super Series winner with
any amount of ability who overcame being crossed at the start and watching
Sonofanearl cruise to the lead by drilling that horse form the death in a very
impressive display. He improved nicely second up and can be followed with
confidence wherever he’s placed in coming weeks. Click
here to view the run.
