Best Bet ($40 win)
Endsino (Race 1 No.2) $1.80
Not only did this filly stamp her class with a thoroughly dominant Vicbred Super Series win, she rattled home in the Redwood Classic after having little luck. She should bully her way to the top here despite having quick beginners Sheza Amason (1) drawn inside her and Majestic Moves (4) outside her. From that position they really will struggle to run her down.
United Legacy (Race 8 No.9) $1.90
I love the way this guy has switched on in his last two starts and what has been most impressive is the versatility he has shown. He is a horse who has always promised to match it with better class and even from the second row, this is his chance to continue his march towards better races this preparation.
Best Roughies ($5 win x $20 place)
Col Du Galibier (Race 4 No.4) $21
This fella did gallop on debut but when he got back down it was a sight to see as he launched late to just miss a placing behind Agent Maori and Co. on the opening day of Redwood weekend. He has trialled well either side of that and may have some serious ability so while Fabrication (5), Kyvalley Boomerang (2) and a couple of others are no doubt winning chances, this guy must be too at the odds.
Asdenro (Race 7 No.8) $21
After copping some interference in the Vicbred Super Series Final, this boy came three wide with his big loping stride and got within 6 metres of the winner there. That was followed up by copping an extraordinary amount of pressure in the Victoria Trotters Derby before eventually having the front taken from him. He was super when holding on to fourth in the run to the line and considering Our Twentyten (1) will more than likely hold the top here, he will enjoy a lovely run in behind them and can place for sure, if not even win.
The Money Races
Race 3 ($50 worth of Flexi First Fours)
Val Gardena (8) finished strongly into third in the Vicbred Super Series Final prior to that she was runner up in the Breeders Challenge and even from the inside of the second row, she will only need a fraction of luck early to be the most serious threat late. Meadow Valley Road (6) hasn’t had things go her way after making mistakes at her last two but at her best she could cross them all and run it along at a solid tempo. From there I see limited other place chances so we will play the following first fours.
6,8/6,8/1,4,5,7/1,4,5,7. $30 gets 125%
6,8/1,4,5,7/6,8/1,4,5,7. $20 gets 83.33%
Race 6 ($50 worth of Flexi Trifectas)
Eljaykay Phoenix (5) has been the most dominant trotter all season but Illawong Armstrong (7) is nipping at his heels and could even turn the tables if things fall his way, the following four trifectas should accommodate whichever the chips fall.
5/7/1,3. $25 gets 1250%
5/7/4,8. $4 gets 200%
7/5/1,3. $15 gets 750%
5/1,3/1,3,4,8. $6 gets 100%
Quaddies (x4 worth $110)
4,5/5,7/1/9. $40 gets 1000%
4,5/5,7/1/2,7. $24 gets 300%
4,5/5,7/4,7,8,10/9. $24 gets 150%
1,6,7,9/5,7/1/9. $22 gets 275%
