Good Form Preview - Friday @ Mildura

The Game Plan for Mildura – with Blake Redden (@BlakeRedden)
Best Bets ($60 All Up)
Paint The Hammer (Race 1 No.5) $1.50
We’ve got a litany of Shayne Cramp recruits in this race but on form alone this guy looks to be the best of them. He had a pretty solid career early doors for Geoff Webster which saw him run second in a heat of the APG before running fifth in the final behind Lettucerockthem. Since then his form has waxed and waned but even from the alley he can fire forward and be in the early burn which is ideal around the tight-turning Mildura circuit.

Anarion (Race 4 No.2) $2.60
This guy remains a maiden from 12 starts but he has been Mr. Consistent in the Sunraysia all preparation. He isn’t blessed with blinding gate speed by any stretch but I can see him getting across the polemarker in the initial stages which means he will have to weigh up whether to hold to try and hold his rivals wide or take the sit but either way this looks his chance for a long overdue win in the region.

Intransit (Race 5 No.3) $1.50
This guy was narrowly beaten last start when having to work to the chair but for mine, he is better than that and most importantly he should be able to bully his way to the top today which will just about be the end of the penny section.

Best Value ($10 win x $15 place)
Kodiemali (Race 2 No.6) $6
The run of this filly last start had to be seen to be believed. She galloped early before charging at them late to run into second. That was her first crack at C0 grade and we know these 3YO’s have a decided advantage over the older horses, particularly late in the season so even from the wide barrier I can see her slotting in somewhere and making a late dash at them.

Sir Pickles Yumyum (Race 7 No.11) $6
The second value horse is again poorly drawn but he has been going around in much stronger races at Charlton in his last couple and should enjoy the drop in grade here. He has a pretty good record around the Sunryasia and even if he has to come late with one run, he can play a hand given there is some good pace on the front row.

The Money Race
Race 5 ($50 worth of Flexi First Fours)
Not only does Intransit (3) look close to a good thing, it’s pretty clear cut behind him too with stablemate Boltenin (1) and Colada Mach (9) the most serious threats and Hayabusa Flyer (7) the only other serious first four hope. On that basis we’ve come up with the following combinations.

3/9/1/7. $30 gets 3000%
3/1/9/7. $15 gets 1500%
3/1,9/7/1,9.  $5 gets 250%

Quaddies (x4 worth $120)
3/5,6/5,11/2. $60 gets 1500%
3/5,6/5,11/7,8. $24 gets 300%
3/1,4/5,11/2. $24 gets 600%
1,7,9/5,6/5,11/2. $12 gets 100%
