The Money Races

Race 1

An even bunch of fillies do battle here with Brite Spark Lombo the yardstick but she is by no means past the past with Floweronthewall, Clevedon Betty, Illawong Joyful and Here And Now all live chances so I think the best way to attack this race is by roving Brite Spark Lombo in a trifecta with the above mentioned runners.  I’m throwing $100 at the below bet.

6 Roving Banker with 1,3,10,11.  $100 gets you 277.77%

Race 2

Our Great Spirit has trialled well for his first up run tonight and looks the Best Bet on the program, but he will be quite short so in the pursuit of value I’m going to stand him out in a trifecta with a number of other runners and hope for a decent dividend.  $100 outlay once more.

3/ 1,2,12/ 1,2,4,6,12.  $100 gets you 833.33%

Race 5

This looks a classic two-horse race with Lierre Noir leading and Fairest One Youare sitting outside her and I think they’ll fight the finish out with Big Mumma Fitz, Corbin Lee and Ok To Fly the key ones for trifectas.  I’ll play hard with the top two to finish 1,2 and take another as a saver just in case things don’t go to plan.  $100 outlay once more.

2,4/ 2,4/ 5,8,11.  $80 gets you 1333.33%

2,4/ 5,8,10/ 2,4.  $20 gets you 333.33%

Race 9

Taking a little bit of a punt here with former Kiwi 3YO Our Summer Wind who joins Tim Bolitho without winning a race in 8 starts back in his homeland but he strikes a very weak race first up and it would shock me if he was rolled.  Itsallaboutex looks a clear second pick so I’m going to base my trifectas around the pair with Lotta Lip, Son Of A Star, Anotherstrikenuget and Enter The Sandman the only other ones capable of snaring a place.  $100 outlay once more.

7/ 4/ 1,2,3,5.  $70 gets you 1750%

7/ 1,2,3,5/ 4.  $30 gets you 750%

BLACK BOOKERS – Racing Tonight

Floweronthewall (Race 1 no. 1) $5

Ran an encouraging race on debut at Charlton 9 days ago when second to the very smart Almost El Eagle where she led early, took a sit on that fellow at the bell and held on well at the end of a 27.6 final quarter.  She will be improved, draws to lead or sit just off the pace once more and is a leading chance in an open contest.

Here And Now (Race 1 no. 3) $5.50

Was running on strongly out wide on the track at huge odds at Bendigo last Sunday but she hung in, locked wheels with Illawong Joyful, who was also winding up and ended out the back behind More Than Alright.  She gets back to the front line draw here, has the gate speed to race in a forward position and will get her chance to improve on her average form line.

STAR TRIALLER

Our Great Spirit (Race 2 no. 3) $2.50

Resumes from a spell tonight off the back of some handy trial performances in recent weeks, the latest of those at Melton last Monday where he cruised to victory in 2:02.1 and slipped home in 28.2.  He leaves the mobile well, looks a great chance of getting the lead and from there he is sure to take running down first up.

Followed eye-catching efforts in heat and semi-final of the Tontine behind Ballochbuie and Magical Telf with yet another slashing performance in the final last night where he sailed down the outside fence to run second to Charlie Machsheen.  He lacks early dash but always finishes his races off with gusto and he is sure to take holding out in whatever he contests next.
