HUTCHY'S VIDEO PREVIEW
THE GAME PLANS FOR VICTORIAN HQ

Best Bet
Guns N Roses (Race 2 no. 6) $1.80
This guy swamped a slightly better lot than this from an outside-second-line two starts back then met some pretty smart ones last time out. He has a pretty big class and form edge on his rivals here and there’s not much that could happen in the run to stop him from winning this race.
Best Value
Narree Belle (Race 1 no. 7) $4
This very genuine mare won the quicker of two heats for this final last weekend at Melton and should lead or breeze even from the wide draw. This is an even race but she deserves to be a clear favourite and should be backed with confidence on an Each Way basis.
Alchemy (Race 3 no. 7) $7
It’s hard to believe that he won his first mile race last start as it seems his ideal trip. A brilliant beginner and excellent sit-sprinter he can either rifle forward and chance his arm early or sit back and sizzle with one run late. Far from a moral but by far the best value at his $7 Herald Sun quote.
Sarum Knight (Race 4 no. 6) $7
Kerryn Manning has this bloke racing at the peak of his powers right now and that should be good enough to figure here. A smart beginner, he was not beaten far in a 1:53.7 mile here two starts back then worked early and stuck on well last time out. Another $7 shot with super Each Way claims.
Amajorjo (Race 8 no. 4) ** $7
Easily the best value bet all night. I actually marked this guy $2 favourite tonight on the strength of his recent demolition jobs in easier class so the $7 quoted in today’s Herald Sun looks amazing. Mister Sheedy (2) is handy but I think this guy can park outside and beat him – get on board.
Best Roughies
Arber (Race 5 no. 9) $15
He strikes a strong, even race but this bloke finished third in the Hamilton Cup behind Our Arlington and Our Blackbird then rattled home in crazy late number at this course two weeks back. His trailing draw is actually OK so rate him a fantastic Each Way hope at what might be double figure odds.
Lady Patti (Race 6 no. 10) $11
It’s quite unbelievable how strong this HBV Trackbred 3YO Classic is but even having said that, this blueblood filly has a massive winning hope. She’s unbeaten at the trials and has already displayed freakish ability when on song - erratic and green but good enough to figure on raw ability alone.
The Money Race – Race 7
Can’t wait for this race as I think it’s a dead-set match race between Mister Sheedy (2) and Amajorjo (4) and unlike some other pundits I reckon Amajorjo (4) is clearly the one to beat. Western Rockstar (9) has talent and can run into second. The rest - in my opinion - are racing for third at best.
2,4/ 2,4,9/ 2,4,6,7,8,9. $100 gets 625%.
Quaddies (x2)
2,4,6,7,9/ 1,6,8,9,11/ 2,6,10/ 6. $50 gets 66.67%.
2,4,6,7,9/ 1,6,8,9,11/ 2,6,10/ 1,4,7,9,12. $50 gets 13.33%.

Best Bet
Guns N Roses (Race 2 no. 6) $1.80
This guy was super winning here two runs ago in 1:54.3 where he finished off hard out wide in a slippery last quarter of 27.2 and he wasn’t disgraced last week behind Alchemy in a race that developed in to a dash up the straight. He is a quick beginner as a rule, looks like doing enough to keep In Monaco at bay early to speed to the lead and once there he will be nigh on impossible to mow down.
Best Value
Washmepockets (Race 5 no. 11) $7
I was very keen on this fellow last week and he didn’t let me down by saluting at juicy odds in what was a career-best performance for mine after doing a stack of work in the run and running away from his rivals in the stretch. This is a harder race and he will have to produce a similar effort if he is to be successful again but I think he is well up to it and I’ll be having a decent crack at him each way once more.

Tabcorp Park Trainer Talk – Andy Gath
Best Chance
Broadway Classic (Race 1 no. 9) $3.70
“He’s been good in two starts for us. Not a lot has gone right so far but he’s found himself in a winnable race and he’ll acquit himself well. I like him as a horse and the competition suits so we expect a good run but I wouldn’t be putting your last on him.”
Others
Elegant Image (Race 7 no. 7) $11
“We’ve got a shocking draw, so that’s the downside. On the other hand, he seems back to his very best, which is the most important thing. Put it this way, if he’d drawn a little better I’d have expected him to lead and I’d have expected him to win. As it is we’ll still be going forward and seeing how good he’s really going but there’s no doubt he’ll be better than at his past couple of starts.”
Lady Patti (Race 6 no. 10) $11
“We’ve had a very high opinion of her right from the word go. She beat Dean Braun’s nice filly (Itz Nosurprisesthere) at the trials and that horse has gone on to win the NSW Oaks so for sheer ability she’s right up there. We certainly meet three really top class fillies here but this is the start for her and I think with a bit more experience she’ll definitely measure up.”
Sectional Superstar
Bellingham (Race 7 no. 4)
Anthony Crossland has done a sensational job resurrecting the career of this very talented trotter and last Friday night he indicated than any Australasian squaregaiting feature is within his grasp right now when rattling home in 57.91 seconds behind Earl Of Mot at Tabcorp Park.
