Good Form Preview - Tuesday @ G-troit

Best Bet

The Kimura (Race 1 no. 8) $1.80
Talented type who has won 2 of his 5 outings, the latest of those at Maryborough 12 days ago where he had the last shot at the promising Shakti Bromac and got the better of him right on the stick at the end of a 27.9 final quarter.  He has the tricky gate to overcome here, plus he takes on the older horses for the first time, but he doesn’t meet a strong lot and with any luck whatsoever he should be too good.

Best Value Bet

Amazing Kano (Race 4 no. 3) $3.50
Ran home well for third to Latoya Lass at Cranbourne two back and his latest effort behind the smart Johnny Quid on this track 13 days ago was sound all things considered.  He looks well suited tonight as he is a big chance of getting the lead and will take plenty of running down should that scenario play out.  Back him each way on a 1 x 3 basis.

Best Bet

Tyler Bromac (Race 7 no. 11) $2.50
This guy went ahead in leaps and bounds last preparation and while he wasn’t at his best first-up and he does meet the very talented Illawong Sister Styx (9) I can just see him having one shot and being a bit too good. It is a two-horse race however so check out my Money Race strategy so we get something out of the race even if he doesn’t jag the prize.

Best Value

Rowillie (Race 1 no. 5) $6
I have no illusions that this guy is any star but with hot favourite The Kimura (8) drawn inside the back row I think he can spear straight to the front and prove extremely difficult to beat. His recent form is very solid for a race of this nature and if the $6 holds up, he’s an Each Way special for mine.

Funny Car ((Race 4 no. 7) $4.50
I have always had an opinion of this guy and followed his career pretty closely as a consequence. He is racing very well this campaign without much luck and while his get-back style can be tough to follow I think with a bit of early heat on here Nathan Jack can unleash him at the 800m mark and mow this lot down tonight. I marked him $2.80 so anything better than that is value for mine.

Best Roughie

Bohemian Lombo (Race 5 no. 10) $21
Normally, I would only advise you to back the Bes Roughie for a place but I honestly think this guy can win with a few breaks in transit. At his best, he is an early leader or natural enforcer from the breeze and with heaps of early speed off the front line here he may be able to follow them early then bully his opponents over the ideal short trip tonight.

Money Races

Race 2
I’ve got a pretty simple philosophy here. I just think the three class runners will fight out the Trifecta and if one of them lets us down we’ll have a little saver on the side. The wager is unlikely to make you rich but it should yield some sort of result.

6,7,8 Boxed Trifecta. $30 gets 500%.
6,7,8/ 6,7,8/ 1,3,5,9. $20 gets 83.33%.

Race 7

As mentioned above, I think Tyler Bromac (11) & Illawong Sister Styx (9) are almost a monty to fight this out and even if they don’t only a couple here can split them. I’m taking three staggered Trifectas as outlined below.

9,11/ 9,11/ 4,7,8. $60 gets 500%.
9,11/ 9,11/ 1,2,5,6. $24 gets 200%.
9,11/ 4,8/ 9,11. $16 gets 400%.

STAR TRIALLERS

Glenferrie College (Race 2 no. 7) $2.50
Resumes from a 5-month break tonight off the back of two recent trials at Melton, the latest a strong victory 8 days ago in 1:59.8 where he finished off in 28.2 and this talented Craig Demmler trainee should take plenty of beating first up despite the car park draw.

Illawong Sister Styx (Race 7 no. 9) $2.20
Quality mare who wasn’t really seen at her best in 10 runs last season, although she did manage to win two races, and she resumes tonight from an 8-month break off the back of two recent trial hit outs at Melton to blow the cobwebs out.  She won’t be fully wound up for this but is top shelf when on song and this race looks well within her grasp first up.
