Good Form Preview - Monday @ Hamilton

The Game Plan for Hamilton – with Jason Bonnington (@jasonbonnington)

Best Bet

Duke Of The Moment (Race 1 no. 6)
This guy is a well performed ex-Kiwi squaregaiter that has trialled well for new trainer Dean Braun since arriving on Aussie shores. That combination of credentials, plus the fact that he’s a great beginner form the strands, should ensure he makes a winning local debut this afternoon.

Money Races

Race 4
Over the mile here I see there being three well-drawn serious winning chances. They are Modern McKenzie (1), Bohemian Lombo (2) & Alta Antonio (8). More to that point, there’s only a few others that can even fill a hole in Amajorfrost (5), Lot Of Lip (9) and Shalackin (10). It’s always good from a punting perspective when you can rule out several runners for multiples so I’m playing the two Trifectas below and hoping for some value.

1,2,8/ 1,2,8/ 1,2,5,8,9,10. $64 gets 266.67%.
1,2,8/ 5,9,10/ 1,2,8.  $36 gets 200%.

Race 6
I’ve followed Foldem (1) into the forest and walked away an unhappy man several times this preparation, but I’m giving him one more chance today as this race looks his for the taking. An excellent beginner, he should be able to keep everyone at bay early and over the short course in a race with little obvious pressure, that should be enough to win. If he’s happy to be beaten by one yet again however, we’ll also have a saver so the race isn’t a total bust.

1/ 2,4,8,11/ 2,3,4,8,10,11. $80 gets 400%.
2,4,8,11/ 1/ 2,3,4,8,10,11. $20 gets 100%.

Quaddie

1,2,8/ 5,7,9,11,12/ 1/ 2,4,6,9. $60 gets 100%.

Black Bookers (Bendigo – yesterday)

Here And Now
She’s a lightly raced daughter of Live Or Die who looked a certain winner when peeling very wide in the lane before locking wheels and finishing a well beaten second last behind More Than Alright yesterday afternoon.  She has always had talent and may start overs next time with that undeserved blot on her copybook. Chasing Chelsea
She’s a four-year-old mare who stuck to her guns sensationally well after parking outside leader and eventual winner Ponder In Paris yesterday. They rated 1:57.7 there so her run was huge and she is worth following wherever she lines up next. Click here to view the run.
