On face value it’s a terrific punting card @ Quest Racing Complex today and while I could probably label five or six horses as Best bets, I’m going to play a straight bat and just try to collect from the two ‘good things’ of the day along with a couple of Money Races featuring those Best Bets and two Quads for our usual $100 outlay.

Best Bets/All-Up

Much like last night at Mildura, where we doubled our money from a little All-Up, I’m going to roll both of these tips into one another for what I think will be a slightly better result.

Rapid Art Beat (Race 2 no. 2) $3.60

This bloke has always shown more than his fair share of ability but he’s had trouble getting continuity on the track. Last time out, in a heat of this race, he led them up, copped pressure throughout and still drew away to win stylishly and if he can produce a similar display today I think he’ll be getting the chocolates again.

Macca Kelly (Race 7 no. 4) $1.60

Put simply, this isn’t the strongest C5 to C6 you’ve ever seen and given this bloke has always been a metropolitan class animal in the making I’m pretty sure only bad luck or a very hard pulling Double Happy (2) can beat him today.

The Money Races

Race 2
As mentioned above I’m confident Rapid Art Beat (2) is the horse to beat here and if Rojen Dream (1) is happy to lob behind him transit and Lights And Music (8) lands three pegs they’ll run the Trifecta for sure. It is racing however so nothing is certain and we’ll take few savers just in case one of the other two rolls Rapid Art Beat (2) or things don’t work out to plan after the start.

Race 7

The only question mark over this race is whether Ellen Tormey will shoot for an all-the-way win with Double Happy (2) because if she does the race gets a little more complicated but I suspect given the class differential she’ll hand up to Macca Kelly (4) and if she does they should run first and second for sure. There’s a reasonable chance they’ll Quinella the race from lead and breeze so rely on that scenario and take the following Trifectas.
