The Game Plan for Bendigo – with Jason Bonnington (@jasonbonnington)
We’re back to just the one meeting @ Bendigo tonight and to
be absolutely fair it’s a pretty tricky programme. If I was only having a
couple of best I’d probably target the Money Race and the Quad but we’ve also
found 1 Best Bet, 1 Best Value and 1 Best Roughie across the eight race card.
Best Bet ($50 Win)
Ifu Seek Flight (Race 3 no. 5) $2.90
This girl is yet another member from what was a bumper crop
of classic age trotters last term and having matched it well with the likes of
Spidergirl and Steal A Sixpence last term she looks the testing material here
for sure. Also take into account the fact she has two impressive Bendigo trial
wins to her name in preparation for this first-up tilt tonight.
Best Value ($25 Each Way)
Art Prevails (Race 1 no. 10) $4.80
In a field very light on for class of any kind, the above
pacer has a few things in her favour. One is her consistency, which has seen
her finish top-four in her past six starts this term. Another is her
versatility which should see her handle the grandstand gate, while the last is
the fact that she has the services of Chris Alford, who’ll ensure she gets her
best possible winning hope tonight.
Best Roughie ($25 Place)
Myrniong Panorama (Race 1 no. 1) $11
This guy is no star but his MO for a very long time has been
to race well in stand-start races form good draws where he can use his early
speed and excellent manners to find the front early, before usually handing up
in transit and trying his best to hold on for a place. He gets everything to
suit here and the field is not strong so back him straight out the drum and
you’ll at least get a run for your dough.
The Money Race – Race 4 ($75 Flexi First 4’s)
Tombstone Eden (7) has been low flying of late and
really should round her rivals up in this small field but she does meet two
pretty handy types in Lombo Cloud Nine (2) & What A Fine Fella
(4). Regardless of that, she shouldn’t finish any worse than second and if
she doesn’t we should make some folding from this race.
7/ 2,4/ 2,4/ Field. $28 gets 350%
7/ 2,4/ 3,6/ Field. $20 gets 125%
2,4/ 7/ 2,4/ Field. $16 gets 200%
2,4/ 7/ 3,6/ Field. $11 gets 68.75%
The Quads
7/ 1,3,6,7,9,10/ 6/ 1,3,6,7,9,11. $36 gets 100%
7/ 1,3,6,7,9,10/ 1,2,3,4,7,8,9/ 1,3,6,7,9,11. $46 gets
18.25%
2,4/ 1,3,6,7,9,10/ 6/ 1,3,6,7,9,11. $18 gets 25%
