I normally love punting at Shepparton but I must admit this is a tricky card on which to find winners. Having said that, I think we can attack the programme by playing for value while also targeting two Money Races, loading up on the first event and attacking the Quads for different ways.
Best Bet ($50 Win)
Gowan Brae (Race 1 no. 1) $2.10This guy has always had a pretty big boom on him from the Gath camp and after trialling impressively behind the all-0conquering Yankee Rockstar at Melton recently he should lead and win here with consummate ease.
Best Value ($20 Each Way)
Barriettas Bliss (Race 2 no. 10) $7.50This mare was returning from a long break and off some pretty encouraging trials when flashing home late behind Clancys Fobwatch last time out. She meets some very average beasts here and is well worth an Each way wager at the handy odds.
Just Call Me Earl (Race 6 no. 11) $8
He has always had a fair deal of ability and really seems to
be thriving this campaign. I do concede Kyvalley Racer & Jingling
Silver serious winning hopes but he is my clear top tip and if he starts
anywhere near $8 you have to get on board.
Best Roughie ($10 x $20)
Wolfpack (Race 5 no. 10) $11I’d be the first to admit this bloke has been frustrating to follow and he was very ordinary last time out but this is a pretty moderate race and if he can find his very best form he is the one to beat. Don’t jump into him at any short odds but if he’s paying something decent then have a little lash.
The Money Races
Race 1 (Flexi Trifectas for $50)As mentioned above, I think Gowan Brae (1) will lead and win here and if Courageous Emm (8) can kick through to hold his back she should fill a hole. Beyond those two we’re looking for value from one of the race’s untapped runners.

1/ 2,4,6,7,10,13/ 8. $20 gets 333.33%
Race 3 (Flexi First 4’s for $50)
Aloha Don Ho (11) is my clear on-top selection here
but I suspect he’ll either win comfortably or not do much at all. Tuxedo
Toff (9) has been trialling well and looks the other key winning hope along
with Lets Go Rabbitoh (10) whose an honest campaigner and comes from the
right camp to win.
