Good Form Geelong + TP & Horsham Cup Sectionals

THE GAME PLANS for Geelong

Michael Polster (@MickPolster)

Value Bets

One Tough Reign (Race 4 no. 4) $5
Resumed from a break at Melton 12 days ago with a cheeky third to Bout Time where he went quickly in the lead over the short trip and just got tired in the last 100m.  He steps up to the 2100m today but will be fitter, looks a great chance of getting the lead once more and if Josh Duggan can steal a cheap quarter he will be tough to run down.

Black And Yellow (Race 7 no. 1) $12
This mare ran a nice race at Melton last start behind The Midnight Reign where she worked home strongly for fourth at the end of a 56.7 final half and wasn’t far from Dream Verdict, who will be well-fancied in this event.  She has gate speed, should gain a soft trip on the pegs and is worth a ticked each way in what is an open race.

Whata Avenue (Race 7 no. 4) $5.50
I’ve been following this mare for a while and she is not far off winning again after solid performances behind handy types Narre Boy and Im Noddy at her past two where she has done work in the run.  She looks a chance of getting the lead off Black And Yellow today and whether she holds up or takes a sit on Dream Verdict she will get every chance.

The Money Race

Race 5
Jungleface Jake is a quality 3YO who looks like cruising to the lead and should be too strong for his rivals over the short course with Bella Hotshot sitting on his back throughout the key one to anchor exotics around.  I’m throwing $100 at the following bets.

Exacta: 4/ 1.  $40
Trifecta: 4/ 1/ 2,3,5,8,9.  $30 gets you 600%
First Four: 4/ 1/ 2,3,5,8,9/ 2,3,5,8,9.  $30 gets you 150%

Quaddie
3,4,5,10,11,12/ 4/ 2,5,7,12/ 1,2,4,5,9,10,11.  $100 gets you 59.52%

Best Bet

Jungleface Jake (Race 5 no. 4) $1.50
This bloke is the absolute best on the program but he will be very short. If you don’t mind taking red figure odds back him straight out but it might be more advisable to make him one-out in your Quaddie and use him as an anchor for the Money Race outlined below.

Best Value

Black And Yellow (Race 7 no. 1) $12
Looks ideally suited as the frontrunner here. He’s run a couple of good races at Melton recently and comes off a fourth to The Midnight Reign. This looks his race so he’s an excellent Each way option at the double figure quote.

Best Roughie

Urban Icon (Race 4 no. 1)
This guy often bobs up when least expected. He has the ideal draw for his style of racing, should be fitter for one run back from a break and meets beatable opposition today.

The Money Race

Race 5
As mentioned above, I’m keen on Jungleface Jake (4) here and almost as keen that Bella Hotshot (1) will either run a place behind him or even blouse him at odds if the pressure is intense. Take the three Trifectas below.

4/ 1/ 2,3,5,8,9. $50 gets 1000%.
4/ 2,3,5,8,9/ 1. $20 gets 400%.
1/ 4/ 2,3,5,8,9. $10 gets 200%.

Quaddie
3,5,8,10,11,12/ 4/ 2,3,5,7/ 1,2,4,5,9,10. $100 gets 69.44%.
