THE GAME PLAN for Geelong – with Michael Polster
Best Bet
Laughing Holme (Race 2 no. 4)
This guy has been very good at his past two behind quality
types Dual Agent Tabman and Fanagalo in standing start races and looks ideally
suited tonight against this class of horse.
He will more than likely have to park out but with a slow
tempo expected he will get his chance to get back into the winners list.
The Money Race
Race 7
This looks a match race between the Geoff Webster-trained
duo of Charlie Machsheen and Kotare Roland with not a split inch between these
two talented 4YO’s. They are a big chance of being leader/behind leader and it
looks a great race to smash some exotics. Here’s how I’m playing with
$100 total spend.
Flexi Trifecta 2,4/ 2,4/ 1,3,5,6,8,10 for $52
which gets you 433.33%
Flexi First Four 2,4/ 2,4/ 1,3,5,6,8,10/ Field
for $48 which gets you 50%.
Quaddie
4,9,11/ 3,5,6,10,11/ 1,3,6,10,11/ 2,4. $100 gets you
66.66%
BLACK BOOKER – (Racing Tonight)
Kotare Roland
Geoff Webster’s Kiwi import impressed in pretty strong
company at Melton on his Aussie debut then drilled handy 4YO Cyrus from the
breeze at this track last time out. He takes in gun stablemate Charlie
Machsheen here but looks to have plenty of talent and may be the value option
in a very strong sort of race. Click here to view his most recent run.
STAR TRIALLERS – (Racing Tonight)
Desert Safari (Race 3 no. 3)
Charlie Farrugia-prepared son of Bettors Delight who is
unbeaten at the trials with his latest victory at Kilmore by 25m a sure sign
this guy has plenty of talent. He takes on Dean Braun’s smart first up winner
Major Steppe but he does draw to advantage on debut and is in with a shot at
causing a boil over.
Gurkha (Race 4 no. 9)
This bloke resumes from a short break for new trainer Merv
Williamson and wasn’t knocked around in a recent Melton trial to prepare him
for this assignment. He doesn’t strike a strong race first up, will get a nice
run through from his second row draw and has an excellent chance of scoring
fresh.
DID YOU KNOW?
Did you know that the average price for winners in Victoria
this season is $7.12? Eerily, this is EXACTLY the same average starting price
recorded for Victorian winners throughout last season. Crazy coincidence or
proof that there’s value in the trots if you take the time to find it...
It seems there’s even more value at Victoria’s metropolitan
home, Melton’s Tabcorp Park, where the average winning price so far this term
is $9.21 compared with $8.03 last season.
