Looks
like being revved up early by Brian Gath to get the lead and will be nigh on
impossible to run down thereafter.

Loved
his run last week behind the classy Charlie Machsheen and this looks his race.

Terrific
run last week behind Jaccka Luke first up for Tony Pullicino in fast time and
he looks a great gamble each way.

Race 12, no. 6 Balance Point
This guy is quoted at double figures in today’s Herald Sun but he’s in super form at present and with the possibility he’ll cruise straight to the top I reckon he’s a dead-set special on an Each Way basis.

Race 2, no. 1 Classic Icon
Probably not a massive winning hope but he’s likely to be coiled up behind the leader and favourite so the $26 in today’s Herald Sun is juicy. Back him on a 1 x 5 basis.
Race 5, no.7 Hermione
Anything can win the feature race of the night and at $35 with the TAB on Fixed Odds I’d also be happy to back this mare on a 1 x 3 basis.

Speed Maps
Please note that all Speed Maps represent the predicted positions of horses with 800m to run as analysed by Harness Racing Victoria's form experts.
For any Change of Tactics information please follow @HRVInformer on Twitter.
RACE 1 - PACE SLOW
EARLY – PRESSURE LAST LAP
DOCTOR KOVAC (3) looks clearly the
best beginner off the front line so it would be a shock if he didn’t take up
the running. SULTRY LADY (2) should
benefit from that fact by hunting up to hold the spot behind the leader while
plenty of runners including ILLCRYIFHEWINDS
(6) may look to lob the breeze. CONFUSED
SUPERSTAR (11) should come with one run at them late.
Race 2 – PACE
QUICK EARLY – EVEN LAST LAP
Most
horses drawn the front line have gate speed here but DEEJAY DILINGER (2) musters pretty quickly and should hold out the
early challengers. DISCRIMINATION (6) also
loves to race handy and looks an 80% chance of cruising on to find the chair
with DARCY TEE (7) stuck in
no-man’s-land three wide. CLASSIC ICON
(1) should lob leaders back & be dangerous in that role.
Race 3 – PACE
QUICK EARLY – SLOW ONCE THEY SETTLE DOWN
Two
clear scenarios here & CATCH YOUR
BREATH (7) holds the key. Either Brian Gath puts the foot down early & CATCH YOUR BREATH (7) leads clear of COSMIC UNDER FIRE (4) posted outside
him with MISTER DOUGLAS (2) and PEMBROOK HENRY (3) behind them or CATCH YOUR BREATH (7) is snagged back
early and swaps roles with COSMIC UNDER
FIRE (4) in the run.
Race 4 – PACE QUICK EARLY – EVEN THROUGH LAST LAP
BECAUSE I CAN (2) is a brilliant
beginner who will either cross over and hold the top or relinquish to the
pressure of fellow early flier KEAYANG
CULLEN (7) after the start. Expect him to hold up with WASHMEPOCKETS (1) Landing the gun run on the leaders back and RENAISSANCE MAN (6) eventually finding
the breeze.
Race 5 – PACE
QUICK EARLY – PRESSURE ON THROUGHOUT
Plenty
of speed off the front line & any of STYLISH
JASPER (5), SHES IRRESISTIBLE (1) & HIGHVIEW EBONY (3) can land the early lead. STYLISH JASPER (5) would hand up if she crossed them early while MISS TRICKIN LOMBO (12) is most likely
to make an early move from the second line. BLUCOLLA TIGERPIE (13), NATIONAL GALLERY (11) & HERMIONE (7) will all come with one run
late.
Race 6 – PACE
EVEN EARLY – PRESSURE THROUGH THE LAST LAP
As
mentioned last week stand start trots are very tough to map but SONOFANEARL (7) is a brilliant beginner
from the strands well suited wide on the front line. SPARKS IGNITE (3) and IMAGUNNADOGOOD
(4) should race handy with class runners STONED I AM (11), SPORTS FANTASY (13) and KASYANOV (14) either committing to mid-race moves or coming with
one run late.
Race 7 – PACE
FAST IN EARLY SECTIONS – EVEN TEMPO THROUGHOUT LAST LAP
IN MONACO (2), PALAIS DU LOUVRE (3), SAUCY
VISION (4) &
COMPOSED (5) can all fly the mobile
arm but IN MONACO (2) should find
and hold the lead with SAINT FLASH (1) tucked
in on his back and COMPOSED (5) most
likely to push forward in search of the breeze. First up since December 2011
expect BITOBLISS (10) to peel wide
late and come with one withering sprint at them late.
Race 8 – PACE EVEN EARLY – SLOW ONCE THEY SETTLE DOWN
PEACES OF YOU (4) has been flying the
start of late and should have little issue finding the top tonight with GORGEOUS AN DIVINE (1) lobbing on her
back. Expect SHIFTING SAND (7) to
press on looking for a forward position once they settle with UBRINGTHEDRINKS (9) likely to lead the
three wide line & SAVESOMTIMETODREAM
(11) held up for one swift crack at them in the lane.
Race 9 – PACE OK
EARLY – SLOW ONE THEY SETTLE DOWN
This
race is almost impossible to read but IM
DEMIMONDAINE (5) did begin well at her first standing start last time out
and may well cross these early on. Having said that, almost every horse drawn
the front row can begin well & the only guarantee is that ARCTIC WOLF (10) will be off looking
for a forward position soon after the tapes are released.
Race 10 – PACE
QUICK EARLY – SLOW ONCE THEY SETTLE DOWN
FROSTY VALE (1), MARIOS DREAM (3) & APOLLORITA (4) all begin well from the
mobile start. Expect MARIOS DREAM (3) to find the front & have option once it does with either CHAMP
DEVINE (6) or LAST SUNRISE (7) parked outside the speed. Those drawn off the second line look in some bother with the
expected lack of speed but REIGN OF
DARKNESS (11) can swoop late with the right cart into the race.
Race 11 – PACE
EVEN IN EARLY SECTION – PRESSURE THROUGH THE LAST 800M
AMILIA JORJA (1) has good early toe
and should hold the front here for as long as she wants to. ZOOMBA (5) is a go-forward horse who
should sidle up to the breeze and even have a look for the front while BRAEVIEW WARRIOR (9) will either whip
around them in the middle stages or be saved for one searching run over the
last half mile.
Race 12 – PACE
EVEN EARLY – PRESSURE THROUGH THE LAST 600 – 800M
BALANCE POINT (6) has good natural
speed and should float across this field to find the lead or the breeze pretty
early on. If he finds the lead as expected then BEBOP (1) should be on his back with LE RAPIDE (8) three pegs & OUR
FLYIN JAZZ (10) the obvious candidate to whip around at put the pressure on
from the chair. SUMMER ACE (4) will
need a cart but will be dangerous if he gets it.
BLACK BOOKERS – Racing Tonight
Keayang Genius (Race 2 no. 9)
Super run second up from a long spell at Terang last time when second to Kriptonik where he parked out for the majority of the journey and rallied strongly in the straight to go under narrowly.
He will struggle to win tonight but with a cheap run three back the pegs expected he is in with a shot at filling a place at juicy odds. Click here to view his most recent run.
My High Expectations (Race 6 no. 2)
Indicated a win is just around the corner with a gutsy second to Sonofanearl at Bendigo last start where he did all the work in the breeze and battled on tenaciously in the stretch.
This is a jump up in class tonight but he does draw well and is worthy of a ticket each way in what is an open contest. Click here to view his most recent run.
BLACK BOOKERS – Shepparton Thursday Night
Royal Verdict
This top class 5YO resumed from a break at Shepparton last night and after getting a long way back in the run he was noted making up many lengths out wide on the track for an encouraging fourth to Wattabout A Smile.
That run will do him the world of good and expect him to be mighty hard to beat in whatever he contests next. Click here to view his most recent run.
STAR TRIALLERS – (Racing Tonight)
Perfect Shot (Race 3 no. 5)
Comes off a most impressive work out behind Bitobliss at Shepparton 8 days ago where he finished just 5m behind that star pacer in a slippery mile rate of 1:56.8 with a last half of 56.5 thrown in for good measure.
He takes on some handy claimers first up from a break tonight but you could do worse than have something on him each way at big odds. Click here to view his trial.
Blucolla Tigerpie (Race 5 no. 13)
Top class mare who looked sharp in a recent Melton trial where she savaged the line from near the tail in a blistering last half of 55.5 to run third to the smart Renaissance Man.
She comes up with the extreme barrier tonight but is clearly the class factor and watch for her to be hammering home out wide should she gain the right drag into it.
Bitobliss (Race 7 no. 10)
He has been burning up the trial track at Shepparton of late with his latest effort there 8 days ago by far his most serious as he ran 1:56.8 and slipped home in 56.5 to win comfortably.
He hasn’t been seen since suffering an injury in Smoken Up’s Victoria Cup back in December last year but he looks ready to run a big race first up and tonight’s race looks a suitable assignment. Click here to view his trial.
