Put very simply, we really need a win. It hasn’t been all doom and gloom of recent times but when we have picked up a collect it hasn’t been as big as I would have liked and we’ve had more three-legged Quaddies than I can almost bare. The key plan here is to steer clear of exotics and just target three shorties in an all-up and two value runners along with five potentially fruitful Quads.
Best Bets/ All-Up ($50)
Motu Young Jacob (Race 3 no. 6) $1.50Monte specialist racing in great form who should win this race for fun.
Courageousnquick (Race 4 no. 3) $2
Brilliant beginner and likely leader who is racing in great
nick and should be ideally suited by the short course trip.
Lady Patti (Race 6 no. 10) $1.50
Levels above her rivals on her very best form and will only
need an inch of luck here to prove far too good.
Best Value ($20 Each Way)
Zharis Idol (Race 2 no. 10) $6.50Not sure we’ll get this sort of price about the above filly but even if we don’t I think she’s comfortably the horse they have to roll.
Big Bang Leonard (Race 5 no. 13) $9
I really like this guy. It’s never easy to win from outside
the second line at Geelong but he’s very, very fast and if the speed is on
early and he gets a cart into things I honestly think he’ll drop on this lot
late.
