It looks like we’ve struck a very nice punting meeting today at Bendigo with the bulk of our work to be done early in the card. I’ve a few really solid hopes who should go very close to getting the cash so if we multi them up through a formula 2 and 3 I think we could be in for a minor windfall if they all land. I’m not going to lie, it gets a lot tougher later in the program but in saying that if we split our Quaddie four ways and play for a split, we could land a monster dividend at the end of the eight race card.
Best Bet/ All Up Formula 2&3 ($100 gets 25 units)
Tiavons Dream (Race 2 No.3) $1.70
The scratching of this guy’s main rival Guiltless (7) means that he is head and shoulders above most of the field in this race. In saying that he will have to take on the unraced Stoned Again (4) who is a half-relation to the smart trotter Stoned I Am and has trialled well. However, on the score of experience and a brave last start second where he had to work to the front, I think Tiavons Dream (3) should stroll to the front early and is a nice little percentage booster through our Formula bet.
Blisstar (Race 3 No.1) $2.80
To be fair, this fella is coming out of a restricted race at Melton where they went horribly slow but really that just boosts my confidence. He was forced to drift back to last from the awkward barrier there and coming three-wide solo he looked a little green as they straightened but knuckled down to grab second on the line. His form prior to that was very good with seconds to Classy Guy and Magnificent Art. If he can kick up and hold a forward position today then he gets his chance to breakthrough into the winners circle.
Rocknroll Music (Race 4 No.6) $3.30
I’m pretty excited to be ending our Formula bet on this bloke because we are likely to see close to 2/1 about. He exploded off the arm first up which was nice to see because he was only away evenly in his only other start from the front. If he can show similar zest early I will be backing him in to cross his main danger Master Mach Manus (3) and despite finishing almost 100 metres from Punch Line when leading last time, I think he is better than that and should find a good kick today. If he doesn’t cross then he could end up in no man’s land but in saying that Master Mach Manus (3) is talented yet anything but foolproof at this stage of his career, so I think we will still be a hope of rolling him regardless.
Best Value ($25 win)
Basil Knight (Race 5 No.3) $4
This is no doubt one of the tougher races on the card and Basil Knight (3) does have a nasty habit of beginning quickly then galloping from the stand however if he is clean in his gait early he will find the front and take some running down from that position. He was just 6 metres off Mister Gunsen last time who is low flying and a great measuring stick, prior to that he came wide and was far too good for Senitas Success (1) at Maryborough.
The Money Race ($60 flexi trifectas)
Race 8
While the first three legs of the Quaddie look outrageously tough, I think we can get some sort of result out of the last leg. Mcrita (1) has been in stunning form putting her last two on end and finishing in the minor money in her 10 starts previous to that. She never runs a bad race and from the pole she should have enough speed to kick up and lead, or at worst be behind the leader in the run. There are a few serious threats including Fuji Fred (2), Gian (8) and Rogers Joy (10) so we will play them in a saver trifecta to beat the top pick while throwing in Sukovia (5) and Warrior Mac (6) for third.

3,6/1,5,6,8,9,12/2,4,6,11/2,8,9,10. $28 gets 14.58%
