Another leg of the Choice Hotels Country Cup circuit will be run today at Boort and with a big crowd expected on course, it’s going to be a day of festivities. On the track there are a couple of shorties who look like getting the cash so we are going to play them in an all up. Punters looking for some value can attack the money race and hope for a split and there is also a four-pronged quaddie.

Best Bet/All Up ($100)

Hooper Road (Race 1 No.3) $1.80

This guy showed good potential as a two-year-old, defeating Sutter Man at just his second start. He may be first up today but he has trialled a couple of times and wasn’t beaten far in a 56.9 last half at Shepparton just under a fortnight ago.

Clancys Fobwatch (Race 6 No.6) $1.80

This guy is in a rare vein of form having won 6 from his last 10. He returned to the winners stall last time and despite the wide barrier he is clearly the class horse of the race and should be winning today.

Flaming Flutter (Race 7 No.6) $1.50

With the scratching of Hilltop Hustler expect this guy to start very short but for terrific reason. A Reg Withers Classic winner as a 3YO, he has gone on this preparation to stamp himself as a serious four-year-old, competing with distinction through the Paleface Adios at Menangle. If he is anywhere near his best he should just stroll home at the short quote.

The Money Race ($50 Flexi Trifectas)

Race 5

While the Dean Braun pair, Unico Crown and Unico Pegasus look to be promising in the extreme, there is also only limited hopes outside of them. If we play three trifectas, banking on them to fill the trifecta somewhere, then we can get a decent result out of this race.
