Good Form Preview - Saturday Night @ Shepparton

The Game Plan for Shepparton – with Blake Redden (@BlakeRedden)
T’was the weekend before Christmas and we have the trots coming out of Shepparton tonight so why not have a punt to get into the festive spirit of things. On a tricky punting program we won’t be breaking the bank but I’m pretty keen on one roughie early in the program and I think we can get the cash with a best value bet plus a money race and Quaddie to round things out.

Best Value($25 each way)
Big Zee (Race 4 Number 7) $5
This guy ran a couple of big race through the Gordon Rothacker Memorial Championship then didn’t have things to suit last time against Bliss Man who is low-flying. Tonight he will likely keep working forward off the arm and even if he doesn’t find the front I expect him to be mighty hard to beat at handy each way odds.

Best Roughie ($20 win x $30 place)
Ess Prefontaine (Race 3 Number 8) $21
If you tied me down to having one bet for the night it would have to be this fella on an each way basis. He had trialled encouragingly prior to his debut performance where he was never really in the race and got lost going off the back. He finished off well despite behind beaten a fair way but from his trailing draw tonight I expect him to unleash a decent sprint if and when the gaps open and that should be enough to see him run into the minor money at worst.

The Money Race
Race 2 ($50 worth of flexi trifecta’s)
This may be a random barrier draw but most of the class in this race has drawn poorly. In saying that I’d still expect either Major Megs (12) or Sammysluck (10) to get the cash so we will play trifecta’s around one of those winning and the other running a place. Outside of that pair a raft of runners can fill a minor position so we will play wide and hope things fall our way.

10,12/10,12/2,3,6,7,9,10. $30 gets 250%
10,12/2,3,6,7,9,13/10,12. $20 gets 166.67%

Quaddies (x4)
4,7/3,12/5,9/1,4,5,6,8,9. $40 gets 83.33%
5,6,10/3,12/5,9/1,4,5,6,8,9. $25 gets 34.72%
4,7/7,8,11/5,9/1,4,5,6,8,9. $20 gets 27.77%
5,6,10/7,8,11/5,9/1,4,5,6,8,9. $15 gets 13.88%
