It's been a tough week on the punt but hopefully we can turn it all around today because there are two outstanding meetings at Melton and Mildura this weekend & I am very keen - so we must start building a bank for those fantastic cards.

There are question marks over a lot of top tips @ Cobram today but I'm prepared to play skinny in two races & take a few juicy Quads.

The Money Races

Race 5

This is a frustrating race, beacuse if we could be sure that Im For Real (1) would hold the early lead from his polemarking draw, the race woudl be over as a contest and punting would be a delight. As it is, we're just going to HOPE he holds the front on a track where inside draws are a serious advantage. Play the three Trifectas below, most of which will rely on the polemarker leading and Trottin Rosco (8) trailing him in transit.

1/ 8/ 2,4,5,9. $40 gets 1000%.
1/ 2,4,5,9/ 8. $40 gets 1000%.
1/ 2,4,5,9/ 2,4,5,9. $20 gets 166.67%.

Race 6

Pretty simple philosophy here, in that I think Pressplay (4) is the standout runner engaged and Quick Jet (1) draws to finish second so I'll be playing one big bet around those two runners finishing one-two as outlined below.

4/ 1/ 3,5,6,8. $100 gets 2500%.

Star Triallers

Untraceable (Race 1 no. 1) $5

This guy has a deplorable figure formline but isn't hopeless on his day and was beaten just 3m by smart performer Mister orion in a recent Echuca trial. They finished off in 58sec on that occasion and a similar run from the ace alley here would make him tough to roll

Lights And Music (Race 3 no. 3) $3.30

This bloke has already had one crack at returning from a spell but that race was abandoned so he officially resumes here on the back of an impressive Echuca trial win where he zipped home in 58 flat. He is a pretty talented pacer at his best and should go close today.
