Good Form Preview - Thursday Night @ Cranny

The Game Plan for Cranbourne – with Blake Redden (@BlakeRedden)
After a decent Quaddie result yesterday plus the Guru landing his best bet on the Maryborough program, Good Form punters should be ready to fire today and after Andrew Evans punched home a couple of winners in the heat at Mildura, our attention can turn to the state’s south-east for the first meeting back at the Cranbourne racing complex since Cranbourne Cup night just over a week ago. Small fields can sometimes be a blessing and I think tonight it should help punters single out with a couple of strong money races along with the Best Bet, Best Value and staggered Quaddie which we will split four ways.

Best Bet ($50 win)
Shakti Bromac (Race 6 Number 6) $2.20
Most of tonight’s Game Plan will centre around this talented son of Falcon Seelster getting the cash in the small field here. He has the ability to race through his classes as a new-season four-year-old and two starts before a break he was a close-up fifth behind Chilli Palmer in a consolation of the Breeders Crown. His first-up run from a spell was OK without being outstanding but with Amazing Kano franking that form since, we can lift that race in our estimations. He only had one trial going into that race so he should strip fitter tonight and all things being equal he should outclass his rivals.

Best Value ($10 win x $15 place)
Popeye Village (Race 5 Number 8)  $5
We won’t be breaking the bank on this guy but first-up with little form to speak of we can only hope he will come up a decent price on the tote. He is as short as $5 in today’s Herald Sun but if we can get something closer to $8 that would be ideal because he is no moral. What we do know is that he has won a trial in handy enough time at Cranbourne since transferring to the Rebecca Cartwright stable and he should enjoy a soft run along the pegs whether that be behind the favourite Krisney Girl (1) or three-back the markers if she gets crossed.

The Money Races
Race 3 ($50 flexi trifecta)
There are a couple of small fields tonight we can single out as top betting propositions and this kicks off in the third event. We will bank our main trifecta here around Mediation (1) following an outstanding run on Yarra Valley Cup day behind Antigua. His form prior was good and he should have the speed to kick through and be behind the leader at worst, giving him a massive shot of taking advantage of the sprint lane at genuine each-way odds in today’s paper. There are three main dangers with Medonc (4) clearly the most talented of the lot and likeliest to roll our top tip. If we play around those two plus Stynz Boy (3) and Art Prevails (6) then we should end up with a result early.

1/3,4,6/3,4,6. $30 gets 500%
1/3,4,6/2,5,7. $10 gets 111.11%
4/1,3,6/1,3,6. $10 gets 166.67%

Race 6 ($50 flexi trifecta)
As mentioned a little earlier this race looks at the mercy of Shakti Bromac (6) so there is no better place to double up than the multiples and with limited hopes to run second, plus a saver trifecta in case a roughie lobs third, we should end up with a decent result if we can land the money. Flyin Indi Air (7) grew wings when winning at Cranbourne four starts back and a repeat performance would rate her the most serious threat however Pumpitup (3) has trialled well and should also be considered a chance of taking the minor prize.

6/3,7/1,3,7. $40 gets 1000%
6/3,7/2,4,5. $10 gets 166.67%

Quaddies (x4)
4/1,6,8,9/6/4. $42 gets 1050%
4/1,6,8,9/6/1,2,7. $24 gets 200%
3,5/1,6,8,9/6/4. $16 gets 200%
3,5/1,6,8,9/6/1,2,7. $18 gets 75%

Good Form Preview - Thursday @ The Sunraysia

The Game Plan for Mildura with Andrew Evans (@AndrewEvansHRV).
Best Bets ($100 Win)
(Race 3 No.11 Stormee)
This guy had been competing in much stronger races prior to his dominant win here last start where he fired straight to the top and never looked like getting beaten. Initially he was going to find it tough from his wide second row draw in what was a good field but after all the  scratchings this morning due to the heat the draw is now no issue and he is the class runner of the small field and should be winning.

(Race 7 No.2 Ya Bowen Delight)
This guy should hold the lead here without too much trouble and that’s where he does his best racing from as evidenced by his all the way win here two runs back and he looks the clear top pick as a result.

Best Value ($25 Win)
(Race 4 No.9 Fakeitgood)
This pacer hasn’t had much luck in recent times and today in the small field he should get every opportunity to produce his best and there is a good chance he will be sent around over the odds so he’s worth a small bet on the nose.

Quads (x2)
4,6,9/ 1,2/ 2,6,7/ 2 $60 gets 333.33%
4,6,9/ 1,2/ 2,6,7/ 7,8 $40 gets 111.11%

Good Form Preview - Wednesday Night @ Beckley Park

The Game Plan for Geelong – with Blake Redden (@BlakeRedden)
We have a nice little seven race program from Beckley Park tonight and with a couple of promising horses going around it will not only be worth watching the races tonight, we can single out a couple of bets to throw some cash at in preparation for Friday’s HBV Gold Chalice meeting at Tabcorp Park Melton. We will kick off with a money race in the first followed by a couple of best bets where we should get a decent price about each and then the two-pronged Quaddie to finish things off.

Best Bets ($50 win)
Stunning Jasper (Race 2 No. 5) $4.40
This guy may have only notched up two wins in his 21 starts but not only have both been this preparation, he has turned into a consistent, honest performer. Two starts back he wasn’t far away when fifth behind the promising Basil Knight and last time he stepped cleanly from his similar 10-metre handicap to be beaten less than three metres behind Sunnyandcher. If he can reproduce any of his last five runs then he is the horse to beat tonight.

Liston (Race 3 No. 11) $2.70
Jamie Ennis only recently took over the training of this nine-year-old gelding but his first-up run was full of merit. In a strong claiming race on Cranbourne Cup night he was allowed to stride to the breeze following some slow early sectionals and to fight on for third behind the inform pair of Waterhorse and Cowboy Cadillac suggest he is ready to win a race. Second up tonight he should be fitter and has shown he is versatile enough to overcome the poor draw.

The Money Race
Race 1
We might as well get the cash early because this is a good race with plenty of promising three-year-old’s engaged. Midnight Lights (5) is now in the care of Dean Braun and has trialled nicely at Tabcorp Park just nine days ago. If she can work forward off the arm then you can expect her to finish no worse than second while the principal dangers are Blitzsuzy (1) who was a Lombo winner as a 2YO and should enjoy a nice run , Georgiasgrin (2) who was well backed on debut and put in a nice run and Cosmic Delight (8) who got lost in front on debut and may well enjoy being smothered up and coming with one run.

5/1,2,8/1,2,8. $18 gets 300%
5/1,2,8/6,9,10,11. $12 gets 100%
1,2,8/5/1,2,8. $6 gets 100%
1,2,8/5/6,9,10,11. $4 gets 33.33%

Quaddies (x2)
2,4,5,6,9,10/ 6,7/ 1,3/ 2,4,5,8. $72 gets 66.67%
2,4,5,6,9,10/ 4,5,8/ 1,3/ 2,4,5,8 $36 gets 25%

Good Form Preview - Wednesday @ Maryborough

The Game Plan for Maryborough with Andrew Evans (@AndrewEvansHRV).
Best Bet ($75 Win)
(Race 7 No.1 Nuggetpan) $3.20
This bloke returns to the front line here after a couple of second row draws where he has had to do too much work to get into the action. He will most likely end up on the leaders back today, a place he won from three runs back via the sprint lane at Gunbower, and in a race that lacks depth due to some scratchings this morning he looks the winner.

Good Form Preview - Tuesday night @ Echuca

The Game Plan for Gunbower @ Echuca with Andrew Evans (@AndrewEvansHRV).
Best Bets ($100 All Up Win)
(Race 3 No. 6 Bronco Apache) $1.90
This guy has performed well at both his runs this time in against much stronger opposition than what he meets tonight. He has enough early speed to overcome his wide draw and I expect him to eventually find the top and notch up his first win.

(Race 4 No. 1 Major Megs) $1.80
This guys last start win at Shepparton was super, he fired straight to the lead and gave nothing else a chance running some slick sectionals to score quite comfortably. He shouldn’t have too much trouble holding the lead tonight from the pole and around this track he looks extremely hard to beat.
