Good Form Preview - Wednesday Night @ Terang

The Game Plan for Terang – with Blake Redden (@BlakeRedden)
Best Bets ($50 win)
Cool Carat (Race 3 no.1) $1.70
This guy had a tough run at Tabcorp Park last time from a poor barrier and before that he ran a terrific third when parking in a race won by Game Deliver. That looks terrific form for a race like this and with the advantage of the inside barrier, he should be able to hold a prominent position and hopefully get our night off to a winning note.

Arr En Special (Race 7 no.7) $10
This guy might be perennially underrated but since Jason Lee has jumped in the cart this preparation, he has been low-flying.  He again draws a tough barrier but if he can reproduce any of his last three runs which include a second to Desdon Murruffy last time, a win over Crazy Dave two back or his runners-up cheque to Eliseos Falcon prior, he will be a big player even if we don’t get the $10 quoted in today’s paper.

Best Value ($5 win x $15 place)
One Wise Man (Race 8 No.5) $10
After a monster effort first-up at big odds, this fella didn’t have a lot of luck behind Tezz Khora last time so back to a slightly easier race he can improve. He was building a handy record before going out for a break in October winning two of his last five in good style and he should be getting fitter now that he is third up so on the each-way basis I think he is worth a little wager.

The Money Race ($50 worth of Flexi Trifectas)
Race 4
The scratching of Liston (7) has changed this race dramatically however I think Wipem Dry (4) is going too well to ignore as the leading hope. Jetshaw Joe (1) has ability when right and is first-up for the new stable so has to be respected. For that reason we are going to play the following combinations.

4/1/2,3. $25 gets 1250%
1/4/2,3. $15 gets 750%
4/2,3/2,3,5. $10 gets 250%

Quaddies (x2 worth $100)
4,5,7/3,5,6/7/4,5,6. $54 gets 200%
4,5,7/3,5,6/2,3,6,9/4,5,6. $46 gets 42.59%

Good Form Preview - Wednesday @ Echuca

The Game Plan for Echuca– with Blake Redden (@BlakeRedden)
Best Bets ($50 win)
Ess Prefontaine (Race 1 No.2) $8
I’ve no doubt this guy has a decent deal of ability, he is just taking a while to learn what it’s all about. You can often go broke backing horses like him but I’m convinced he isn’t far from turning the corner and based on his last start fifth behind Admiral Joy, I think the drop in grade is enough to see him a big chance today.

Sketch Me (Race 8 No.11) $2.30
This guy hasn’t missed a place in his last six so you know he is consistent but his latest run behind Smokey Quartz is what really enthuses me for today. That was a much stronger race and he overcame a poor barrier prior to that to smash a similar field to this so he will be hard to hold out today.

The Money Race ($40 worth of Flexi Trifectas)
Race 4
This looks a terrific betting race with the three key chances drawn well. Desiring Bella (1) gets her chance to return to the winners stall in an easier race and should run in the quinella somewhere while French Lesson (2) and Reward For Effort (3) look the serious threats so we will play the following combinations.

1/2,3/2,3. $16 gets 800%
1/2,3/7. $8 gets 400%
1/7/2,3. $8 gets 400%
2,3/1/2,3,7. $8 gets 200%

Quaddies (x1 worth $100)
1,3,4,5/1,6,9/1,2,5/4,9,11. $100 gets 92.59%

Good Form Preview - Tuesday Night @ Melton

The Game Plan for Melton– with Blake Redden (@BlakeRedden)
Best Bets ($40 win)
Aldebaran Seismic (Race 2 No.5) $1.80
This guy is a veteran of just one start from the all-powerful Chris Lang stable and while his only start to date brought about a 17-metre defeat, this race is a lot easier and expect him to have taken benefit from that effort. This is his first try behind the tapes in a race but all things being equal, he should get the upper hand on his rivals at some stage.

Kamwood Courage (Race 6 No.1) $2.40
In a race which looks a dead set match in two, I think this guy will have things run more to suit this time around. He won at his second ever Australian start albeit in easier company and in two runs since he has been well beaten but that has been in stronger races and he gets the plumb draw tonight so he can return to the winners stall for sure.

Top Venue (Race 9 No.7) $2.40
This guy was bizarrely ignored by the market last time but came with a terrific burst to win at monster odds. Prior to that he was a winner at Shepparton in good style and this race isn’t any harder so given he is pretty versatile, he looks the absolute best bet of the day.

Best Roughie ($5 win x $15 place)
Justforrita (Race 3 No.9) $26
This guy is first up from almost two years on the sidelines but I do like a couple of things about him tonight. The fact that connections have preserved with him suggests he has some level of ability and his best form as a two and three-year-old would see him finish in the trifecta here. He also has a couple of handy trial placings to his name so he should be close to ready for this assignment.

Quaddie (x4 worth $100)
1,2/1,9/6,7/2. $40 gets 500%
3,4,8,11/1,9/6,7/2. $20 gets 250%
1,2/1,9/9,11/2. $24 gets 150%
3,4,8,11/1,9/9,11/2. $16 gets 100%

Good Form Preview - Monday @ Charlton

The Game Plan for Charlton – with Blake Redden (@BlakeRedden)
Best Bets / All Up Formula 3 ($60)
Tezz Khora (Race 1 No.1) $1.10
Quite simply, this guy is a class above his rivals today. While he has to take on one or two handy horses including Virginia Lightning (3) and Attack On Command (7), he clung on to win at Tabcorp Park Melton last time in a speedy mile rate of 1:56.0 for the C1 horses. He has good early speed and did win by panels at this track two starts back so provided he hasn’t taken too much harm from the win last time; he is all but over the line.

Bungalally Boy (Race 2 No.1) $1.70
The scratching of Master Grinner  (2) has changed the complexion of this race and given Bungalally Boy (1) should have the speed to hold the lead, he must rate the horse to beat. He won last start at Ballarat when an outsider but that was no fluke, his form previous had been good and 3YO’s have a terrific record taking on the older C0 horses so he is a must include for our three-legged all up.

Highview Connall (Race 7 No.4) $4.50
This isn’t the easiest race and you don’t generally want a horse coming from off the speed at Charlton but this guy’s form is too good to ignore. If he does have to go back at the start we will be banking on his blistering late speed to get him over the line. He was terrific without a lot of luck last time in an M0 race at Melton and only went down by a head in a similar race previously so with a decent drop in class, he can roll his rivals today.

Best Value ($15 win x $25 place)
Goodtime Rusty (Race 4 No.1) $12
I’m convinced this guy is a little underrated and from today’s draw he should have every chance to, at the very least, run a place. Last time he was beaten just 11 metres behind the promising Raylan Gibbins (6) when things didn’t really pan out in a stop-start race but today’s advantage is that he should be in the first couple in running and Charlton is far more conducive to on-speed horses that Geelong . Even in his previous two runs prior he has run some handy fourth’s so he is certainly building towards a win.

Best Roughie ($5 win x $15 place)
Hozatforasundon (Race 8 No.13) $21
This girl is again off the 30-metre back mark and while his last start tenth doesn’t necessarily enthuse, she is a talented little customer and she did loom up to run into that race before failing to come into it late. The one advantage that she has here is the 2570-metre journey which is an extra 300 metres on last time giving her the chance to catch them up a bit easier. All things being equal I think she can run a place at good odds.

The Money Race
Race 7 ($48 worth of Flexi Trifectas)
I love the look of this race in terms of making some money through the trifectas. I’m pretty keen on there being three key hopes Beachstar (1), Our Femme Fatale (2) and Highview Connall (4) , all drawn off the front, with only a few other dangers to run a place so we are going to play the following combinations.

1,2,4 $18 gets 200%
1,2,4/1,2,4/3,6,9,11. $18 gets 75%
1,2,4/3,6,9,11/1,2,4. $12 gets 50%

Quaddie (x4 worth $102)
6,8/2,7,8/1,2,4/1,7,9,10,11,13. $54 gets 50%
2,3,4,7/2,7,8/1,2,4/1,7,9,10,11,13. $48 gets 22.22%
