no. 3) $3.50 Pretty simple theory here – this girl is pretty quick off
the arm and should roll to the top. In her favour is the fact that she’s not
hopeless and she meets a very weak field over the short course. Don’t break the
bank as she has just two placings from eight starts to date but she’s well
worth a speculative bet with so much in her favour.
Best Quinellas Race 2
American Para (1) and
Trottin Rosco (2) fought out a very
similar race to this a fortnight back at Shepparton and should do so again
here. The risk is that American Para (1)
should get crossed at the start but with N Jack in the bike she’ll be given
every opportunity and the Quinella may pay more than the Exacta as Trottin Rosco (2) could be very short.
Race 6 Almost El Eagle (2) is
very talented and signalled his intentions for this campaign when smashing his
rivals first up at Charlton while Outlaw
(9) is a former Kiwi who arrives on Aussie shores with encouraging form and
the killer combo of David Aiken and Nathan jack to ensure he’ll get every
possible chance. Another race where the low-risk Quinella may pay better than
the higher risk Exacta.
The Money Race – Race
7 The theory here is that Forbidden
Forest (2) will be first to the pegs before handing up to noted early flyer
Dobop (5) in the run. If plan A
eventuates then those two horses should fight out the finish but don’t break
the bank as Modern Velocity (7) is
another noted leader who may upset the apple cart.

Classic Bliss (Race 4 no. 9) $2.20
Terrific in defeat at Geelong last start where she led and set a cracking pace before being grabbed right on the stick by a smart one in La Machane in a blistering mile of 1:54.6.She was awesome winning first up at Melton over subsequent winner Ponder In Paris prior to that and from the beaut trailing draw I don’t think her rivals will be able to keep her out.

This looks a classic case of leader/behind leader here with Drunken Desire expected to roll to the lead and McArdles Art sitting right on his hammer.Drunken Desire will be a short-priced favourite but I think McArdles Art is in with a shot at knocking him off so I’m going to play the below trifectas based around the pair with a number of other runners to fill third spot.I’m going to spend $200.

no. 4) $2.20 TAB Fixed Odds - Click here to bet on this horse now. I was really impressed by his Aussie debut here in the Hondo
Grattan where he did all the work and cruised away to win in 1min51.6sec with
something in reserve. He takes on the best 4YO’s in Australasia today but he
draws the best of the big guns and I think he will get the cash.
The Value Bit Of A Legend (Race
5 no. 4) $ TAB5 Fixed Odds - Click here to bet on this horse now. I was really taken by his Derby heat effort last week when
sustaining a long run from the rear in slick late sectionals behind Majestic
Mach. He has a much better barrier this time around and with the likelihood he’ll
find the lead I’m sure Dexter Dunn will give him every possible hope of
success.

Fire As mentioned above I’m pretty keen on Christen Me (4) to get the job done here but there is no doubt that
Restrepo (5), Smolda (12), Jason Rulz
(11) and Im Victorious (8) are
in with a shot at knocking him off so I’m going to play the Trifectas below for
a $100 outlay.
The Moral Im Smouldering (Race 3
no. 1) $3.20 TAB Fixed Odds - Click here to bet on this horse now. I’m not sure she’s a moral but there are none on the
programme and she was super impressive winning her heat of the Oaks when
working early and hitting the line hard last weekend. It’s a wide open race but
she’s got good form, barrier one and Group 1 Gavin Lang; what more could you
want?
The Value The Fiery Ginga (Race
9 no. 1) $9 TAB Fixed Odds - Click here to bet on this horse now. There’s been huge talk this week about superstar Stig (7) but his compatriot above is a
noted frontrunner who has drawn barrier one and could not be better suited. He
was only beaten 2m by Stig (7) after
working two starts back and can certainly turn the tables on that comeback kid
today.

Race 6 – Chariots of
Fire Even with the Inter Dominion final on the same card this
race is nearly the highlight of the day with standouts Christen Me (4), Restrepo (5) and Smolda (12) and WA star Im
Victorious (8) most prominent. That being said, I think the skinny Trifecta
outlined below might be the best way to play. 4,5,12/ 2,4,5,8,12/ 2,4,5,8,12. $100 gets 277.78%.

4 no. 9) - $8 TAB Fixed Odds - Click here to bet on this horse now. An outstanding Victorian mare having her first campaign for
Emma Stewart, she returns to the scene of her greatest triumph today at
Menangle. A winner of this race third-up in 2011, she is racing just as well
now as she was then, so at the double figure quote she can certainly repeat the dose.
The Money Race Race 6 – Chariots of
Fire Arguably today’s most anticipated, the Chariots of Fire will
see three equine freaks in Christen Me
(4), Restrepo (5) and Smolda (12) do
battle. Between them, they should fight the race out but there are a couple of
other unsung heroes here who can fill a hole at least, so I’m playing two
Trifectas outlined below and expecting a result.

An even bunch of fillies do battle here with Brite Spark Lombo the yardstick but she is by no means past the past with Floweronthewall, Clevedon Betty, Illawong Joyful and Here And Now all live chances so I think the best way to attack this race is by roving Brite Spark Lombo in a trifecta with the above mentioned runners.I’m throwing $100 at the below bet.

Our Great Spirit has trialled well for his first up run tonight and looks the Best Bet on the program, but he will be quite short so in the pursuit of value I’m going to stand him out in a trifecta with a number of other runners and hope for a decent dividend.$100 outlay once more.

This looks a classic two-horse race with Lierre Noir leading and Fairest One Youare sitting outside her and I think they’ll fight the finish out with Big Mumma Fitz, Corbin Lee and Ok To Fly the key ones for trifectas.I’ll play hard with the top two to finish 1,2 and take another as a saver just in case things don’t go to plan.$100 outlay once more.

There are a few two-horse races tonight but very few ‘good things’ so if I was to have a significant crack at anything it would be this guy. A devastating sit-sprinter racing at the peak of his powers, he is drawn awkwardly here but there is good pace off the front line and he will only need a reasonable cart into the race late to blow these away with his superior turn of foot.

The usual Friday night plan is to attack two or three races at most and pool our resources but I’ m very excited about tonight’s programme from a punting perspective so I’m playing in seven of the 10 races and I’m very confident of a result. See blow for the full Game Plan.

Stormed Out (1) and Indulgent (4) won their heats of this series and they have plenty of their rivals so should be fighting out the prize. Whats The Big Idea (11) is your clear third pick.

Ballochbuie (3) has beaten Restrepo and Charlie Machsheen this campaign and draws to lead them around while Teo Enteo (9) is the class runner who’ll be hunting him down late. Yet again they look very likely to fight this race out but heaps can run third so we’ll play a few different ways.

There’s very little separating Tara Toplady (1), The Midnight Reign (2), Valiant Sue (4) and Majestic Reign (12) here but they have something on their rivals and should comprise the Trifecta. If not, they should almost certainly make up the Quinella with another few capable of falling into third.

This one is a little risky but I just can’t see Washmepockets (7) or National Service (12) missing a place and I’m also confident one of them will win. Gamblers Rustler (13) is a little concern but one I’m willing to cop.

Race 6
Very confident that this Tontine Final is a four-horse race between Magical Telf (2), It Is Billy (6), Steam Washed (7) and Fearless Leader (12) and while I respect unbeaten hot favourite Magical Telf (2) I certainly don’t think he’s over the line.

Race 9
Machabiba (5) should really win this although Broadway Classic (6) had no luck first up and also has talent. Skinny Tricks are the go in this small field, but hopefully we’re well up by now regardless!

Race 10
The get-out stakes looks pretty cut and dried. Narree Belle (5) should be too good with Ymbro Toto (4) and Cute Art (6) almost certain to fill the placings.
I know this guy doesn’t like to win very often and is very close to entering the ‘money muncher’ category but I really think this is his race.He was very good last week when a narrow second to Because I Can after sitting outside of that fellow and tonight he will stroll up outside likely leader Ubringthedrinks, may even get the lead, as that guy is a noted hand up horse, and whether in front or in the breeze I think he will be a touch too strong.If you get anywhere near the $5 quoted in today’s Herald Sun I suggest you give it the full treatment.

This is a final of a C0 series where heats were held at Echuca and Stawell with Stormed Out and Indulgent winning those heats in fine style and they look a class above their rivals tonight.I think Stormed Out will lead with Indulgent sitting in the breeze and they will dominate proceedings thereafter so I’m going to take the below trifecta for $200 and hope that something at big odds runs third spice up the dividend.
