Good Form Preview - Cup Eve @ Beckley Park

The Game Plan for Geelong - with Jason Bonnington (@jasonbonnington)
Best All-Up

Just Live Life (Race 3 no. 8) ($1.50) & Alina (Race 8 no. 3) ($1.80)
On a very difficult day a Beckley Park these two do look the specials. Just Live Life is a talented pacer who will only need a bit of luck from the awkward gate eight draw to break through for the first time this campaign while Alina has lengths on her rivals for class in the last and should win easily if everything goes to plan. Expect around $2.70 for every $1 you invest.
Best Value

Chanels Charm (Race 6 no. 7)
He is a pacer who has always had ability and after a few luckless runs so far this prep he’s due for a change of luck today. The draw is awkward but he should be at Each Way odds and is definitely worth a wager if that is the case.

Best Trifectas

Race 4
1,3,5 Boxed. $60 gets 1000%.
1,3,5/ 1,3,5/ 6,7,8. $40 gets 222.22%.

Quaddie
Crazy difficult Quad today but that may well mean value. Here’s how I’m playing.
1,3,5/1,3,4,5,6,7,8,9/ 3,5,7,9,11/ 2,3,5,7,8. $100 gets 16.67%.

Best Value Bet

Our White Knight (Race 7 no. 2)  $4
Was placed at a disadvantage over the last 500m with a flat tyre on his sulky in the Kilmore Cup last week and didn’t do a bad job to finish sixth all things considered.
He is a great chance of finding the pegs first today and whether Gavin Lang decides to hold up or take a sit on a suitable horse he looks a terrific gamble each way on a 1 x 3 basis.

Quaddie

2,3,8/ 4,7,8,10,11/ 4,7,9,10/ 1,2,3,4,5,11.

Good Form Friday - 11 of the Best

THE GAME PLANS for Melton – with @MickPolster & @jasonbonnington

Michael Polster

The Money Race (Race 4)
Beach Melody (leader) and D B Dazzler (leaders back) look like dominating with Braeside Falcon (three pegs) a great chance of filling 3rd/4th spot. Here’s how I’m attacking the race with a $100 total spend.

Quinella:  Beach Melody and D B Dazzler x $33

Trifectas:  1,2/ 1,2/ 8  x $13 which gets you 650%  and  1,2/ 1,2/ Field x $20 which gets you 100%

First Fours:  1,2/ 1,2/ 8/ Field x $22.50 which gets you 125%  and  1,2/ 1,2/ Field/ 8 x $11.50 which gets you 63.88%

Quaddies (x2)
1,2/ 1/ 5/ 1,2,5,7,9.  $50 gets you 500%
1,2/ 3,4,5,6,7/ 5/ 1,2,5,7,9.  $50 gets you 100%

Big6’s (x2)
1,3,5/ 1,2/ 1/ 5/ 1,2,5,7,9/ 3.  $50 gets you 55.55%
1,3,5/ 1,2/ 3,4,5,6,7/ 5/ 1,2,5,7,9/ 3.  $50 gets you 11.11%

‘Pot’ of the Night
I’m very keen to take on Lady Penrose in Race 5.  She looks almost certain to be crossed from the pole and will require luck from there on in. There are 3 horses that are quoted at double figure odds in this morning’s Herald Sun that can be backed straight out and should one of them win you will show a tidy profit. All three will be running the gate and should race in prominent positions throughout.
They are:  No. 4 Allwevneed ($15), No. 5 Pete Of Pan ($13) and No. 6 Mister Rhys ($11)

Jason Bonnington

Best Bet
Kotare Roland (Race 8 no. 3) ($1.70)
This ex-Kiwi campaigner has been outstanding in all three Aussie runs to date. He simply drilled Cyrus from the death two back before going down to equally smart stablemate Charlie Machsheen under similar circumstances last time out. He’ll lead tonight and if they knock him over here I’m up for doing dares!

Best Value
Pete of Pan ($13) & Mister Rhys ($11) (Race 5 No’s 5 & 6)
There’s no doubting that Lady Penrose is racing very well but she looks like opening too short for a horse that is likely to be crossed in the early stages. Pete of Pan is favoured to find the pegs first with every chance of handing the lead to Mister Rhys so those two pacers are worth an Each Way wager @ double figure odds.

Guns N Roses (Race 7 no. 5) ($11)
This bloke hasn’t had a lot of luck since beating Keayang Cullen in a stunning mile rate of 1:52.4 five starts ago. He has any amount of natural talent and actually looks well suited in this sort of field so consider him a legitimate blowout option - also at double figure odds.

Best Roughie/Place Bet
Wilwillwinsum (Race 8 no. 1) ($34)
He wasn’t at his best last start but this guy is pretty genuine as a rule & with the likelihood he’ll settle right behind by my Best Bet Kotare Roland I reckon he’s a massive chance to place and should be hammered at anything close to $3 the drum.

Best Exotics
Race 4 – Trifectas
1,2/ 1,2/ 8,9,10,11,13. $80 gets 800%.
1,2/ 8,9,10,11,13/ 1,2. $20 gets 200%.

Race 8 – Trifectas
3/ 1/ 2,5,8,11,12,13. $66 gets 1100%
3/ 2,5,8,11,12,13/ 1. $34 gets 566.67%

Quaddie
1,2,10/ 1,5,6/ 5/ 1,2,5,7,9. $70 gets 155.56%.
1,2,10/ 4,7,8,11/ 5/ 1,2,5,7,9. $30 gets 50%.

BIG6
1,5/ 1,2,10/ 1,4,5,6,7,8,11/ 5/ 1,2,5,7,9/ 3. $100 gets 47.62%.

Good Form Preview - Shepparton Tonight

THE GAME PLAN for Shepparton – with Jason Bonnington

Best Bet
Did It Alone (Race 6 no. 2) ($3.50)
This guy is yet to break through this season but he gets conditions to suit here. An excellent beginner on his day, he looks a great chance of finding the front  in a race lacking any obvious pressure and after running a final half of 55.7 last start (see yesterday’s Melton sectionals) it would be a massive shock to see him rolled tonight.

Big Value Quinella
Modern Velocity & Fine Exception (Race 1 no’s 3 & 1)
These two pacers have been marked $5 & $6 in today’s Herald Sun but I think they’re a massive chance of running one-two.  The theory here is that Modern Velocity, a brilliant beginner, will cross & find the front with Fine Exception on his back. Both horses are ideally suited by the sprint trip & could kick the night off to a sensational starts if they’re the first two past the post.

Best Trifectas – Race 6
2/ 5,8/ 1,3,5,6,7,8,10 = $60 for 500%
2/ 1,3,6,7,10/ 5,8 = $20 for 200%

Quaddies (x2)
1,3,5,7,8,9,10/ 1,2,7,8,9,10,11/ 2/ 1,4,7 =$73.50 gets 50%
1,3,5,7,8,9,10/ 1,2,7,8,9,10,11/ 5,8/ 1,4,7 = $26.50 gets 9.01%

THE GAME PLAN for Shepparton – with Michael Polster

Best Bet
Ashira Bromac (Race 5 no. 11) ($2.50)
Handy Adam Kelly-prepared mare that was a Bendigo winner from this draw four back and has had no luck whatsoever since. There should be some pace in the early stages which will suit her sit-sprint style of racing and watch for her to be charging at them late.

Best Value Bet
Goldenorro (Race 7 no. 1) ($4)
Was doing his best work late at the end of a 56.6 last half when fifth to Grinnersawinner at Bendigo first up from a break. He will be fitter, draws to trail likely leader Wattabout A Smile and will be extremely hard to hold out via the passing lane.

The Money Race (Race 6)
Did It Alone (leader) and Dusty Smiles (three pegs) look like dominating with Algrancos Icon (leaders back) a great value place chance.
Here’s how I’m attacking the race with a $100 total spend.

Place:  No. 1 Algrancos Icon x $25
Quinella:  Did It Alone and Dusty Smiles x $25
Trifectas:  2,8/ 2,8/ 1  x $7 which gets you 350%  and  2,8/ 2,8/ Field x $18 which gets you 100%
First Fours:  2,8/ 2,8/ 1/ Field x $16 which gets you 100%  and  2,8/ 2,8/ Field/ 1 x $9 which gets you 56.25%

Quaddies (x2)
1,2,3,5,7,8,9,10/ 11/ 2,8/ 1,4,7.  $60 gets you 125%
1,2,3,5,7,8,9,10/ 1,8,9/ 2,8/ 1,4,7.  $40 gets you 27.77%
